SEATTLE (AP) — A 4.5 magnitude earthquake rattled the Seattle and Puget Sound area early Friday, waking up a lot of people. There were no immediate reports of damage.

The quake at 5:25 a.m. was centered 14 miles northwest of Seattle near Kingston, in Kitsap County. It was felt as far away as Victoria, British Columbia, 70 miles to the north.

Seattle radio and TV stations heard from callers who said they felt the shaking for 10 or 15 seconds.

A 6.8 magnitude quake shook Washington state on Feb. 28, 2001, damaging the state Capitol in Olympia and historic buildings in Seattle. It was the largest earthquake to shake the area in more than a half-century

Did that happen today????
SHIT, gotta call my dad

I remember the one in 2001. My brother and his wife work at DOT at the capitol. Wasnt good.
I lived on the 2nd story in an apt. Took me forever to walk in the apt, without feeling like the floor was going to cave in. Just a feeling, it never did.

Just called, they are fine. They slept through it..lol

Eh - I'm well set for earthquakes. Bring 'em on. The key I think is to avoid living where there's a lot of weight in masonry or glass over your head. :)

My buddy felt it, but I slept through it. The dog woke me up, obviously trying to tell me something was up, but I ignored him.

Ya the dogs were pacing at the door and whining. I didn't think:doh:(thinking is against my nature at 5:25AM!!)any more about it until the news story.

So I let the dogs out to bark and wake the neighbors. After all their dogs wake me @ 6:30am every morning. I figured it was time for a change.hehehehehe:p Plus I know they worked late night:innocent:

Haha this cracks me up. I am a California transplant in Washington, so a 4.5 is a puff in the wind to me, but my friend was sleeping over and she came running into my room like "Did you feel the earthquake?!?" LOL..... no. I slept through it.

OOOOOOOOOHHH MY Gosh!! I HATE earth quakes!! The last one we had it was the end of july last year our family was camping somewhere where it was RIGHT by a freeway (ya i don't know why my mom picked a campground right by the freeway....) and I was in the pool with my bro's friend's lil sis, and something started rumbling really loud and then there were a bunch of waves in the pool!! OMG!! I was like "ok why don't we go back to our parents..." I was trying to stay calm so she wouldn't freak but when we got to our parents she had gone to her bros and i started crying... i had a bad experiance when i was like 5...
