And Pretty sure I'm going to die tomorrow. :p
I'm not sure what you call it in the U.S. but I'm taking all academic university courses.
My four new couses are:
Sociology/Anthropology
Physics
Biology
Chemistry
I'm going to have a crap load of homework every night lol. :( I think I may be switching physics though, I don't really want to take it although I excel at both math and sciences. I think the only reason I took it was to keep my options open for the future because I still don't know what I want to do yet, ugh.
What's your new semester like? (if it is a new one in the U.S ??). If not, what courses are you taking? :)

My semester started back early January.
I'm only taking 4 classes to put me at 12 hours this semester which means I'm a full-time student.
I'm currently taking:
Intro to Business
Human Communications
Intro to Marriage and the Family (social sciences and it was the only thing open at a decent hour)
Intro to Environmental Science
Schedule is actually kind of retarded the way it's set up..

I started back in early January too.
Basic Elements of Differentiated Instructional Methods ("We're too important for our panty hose" code for Educational Theories) ;)
Lifespan Development from a Multicultural Perspective (Growth & Development... with emphasis on the fact that no one is exactly the same as anyone else)
Literature and Film (which is actually really cool - we read a book, watch the movie, then compare the two)
Western Civilization Before 1450 (which is every bit as exciting as it sounds  )
and Creative Writing, which is a half-semester course that starts after midterms and goes until finals. :)
Woah I am glad I'm not in school. This stuff hurts my brain!

Kaitlyn - I generally hate history, it's by far my worst subject... however this semester I have the BEST history professor EVER. We have a test on Thursday and this is honestly the first time I have ever felt 100% confident going in to a history exam... it's still really boring though. :D

Oh wow, chemistry and physics in the same semester.....you're going to be busy. When I took physics I made sure I didn't have anything else too demanding, altho that isn't always possible. Of course that was ages ago too...

We call them AP credits, I had the opportunity to take some, but since I knew it wasn't going to help my gpa chickened out. Kudos for you for challenging yourself like that. I am taking a full year of normal Chemistry, I am pretty horrible at it. But now that we are doing more stuff that goes hand in hand in algebra I finally beginning to really understand.
This semester I am taking Humanities since I finished my semester course of College Prep Literature...I will have 6 english credits by the end of my Senior year ...I guess it beats taking a foreign language which I'm horrible at.
So altogether my courses are...
1. Advanced Algebra II
2. American History
3. Study Hall/ Lab Period
4. Chemistry
5. British Literature
6. Lunch/Homeroom
7. Humanities
8. Scripture

Haha Grunge - I loved Chemistry so much I got to take it twice! :D
Granted, my teacher was the only chem teacher at the school and had a personal vendetta against half the student body, so he failed 3/4 of the junior class (he was changing schools)... the second time around I made an A. ;)

Nice scheduals guys! I guess we can always ask for homework help on the forum if we ever need it! :D
Today was my first day of the new semester... I absolutely love my soc. teacher!! I have tons of friends in all of my classes so it'll be nice to get together and study or just do homework together.
I'm actually looking forward to dissecting in Bio!... but I don't handle blood that well. Oh well, I am in a group of three with two of my closest guy friends so it should be interesting. I can't say I like my teacher for that class yet though lol.
I like my chem teacher though. We don't have tests in that class! When he told us that I practically DIED of excitement!!! ....turns out he calls them "celebration"... DAMN, thought I was off the hook there LOL

My astronomy professor last semester called our exams "celebrations of knowledge". And he made us sing a Monty Python song (Always Look on the Bright Side of Life... you can find it on youtube if you're so inclined). If we didn't sing, he wouldn't give us our test. :D
When we dissected cats in anatomy in highschool, there wasn't any blood; I doubt you have to worry about it. :)

That's the words he used!!!! LOL I didn't remember that part until you wrote it. He also used a special word for homework lol. That's neat hahaha.
Yeah we're going to have to do that too. A cat, a rat, part of a cow and something else I can't remember. I'm glad there's not much blood. Maybe I'll just puke at the smell instead haha. Of course, I can always do it virtually (no way!) lol.

I've got:
1. Chemistry
2. English III
3. Algebra II/Trig.
4. Modern European History
5. Equine Science
Luckily Equine Science is only every other day, so I get to be done at 11:15 half the time which helps big time since Modern Euro is a huge homework class

I've just got two classes this quarter (we're on quarters, not semesters, at my school)....trying to boost my GPA a bit after doing not so well last quarter, lol. But I've got a child development psychology class and a popular culture class. Both are really interesting. :) It's a nice easy quarter for me!

Me too! What direction do you want to go? I'd love to do counseling someday, or maybe work at a rehabilitation center.

Loves: Didn't read everyones replies (short on time myself due to homework) but welcome to the world! ;) I'm lucky I have time to "sneak" on here & "peek" right now. I feel like I'm letting the board down, but they will understand & if not... oh well. LOL.. Just do what I do.... say to yourself "This will all be worth it in the end!!"

I was majoring in psych... but I came to the realization that, while I thoroughly enjoy learning about the subject, I wouldn't truly enjoy anything I could do with the degree, aside from equine therapy, which I can do without the degree (I just have to find a shrink who'll help out. Conveniently a very good friend is majoring in psych). So I switched to teaching highschool english - which gives me my summers to play with the horses. :D

Dakota - :eek:Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait just a second now! Your PE class is split with Drivers Ed? That's just not fair! I had to spend all semester running around that stupid gym! What's the phone number to your school board, I'm going to call and complain!! :p

Hey, you're talking to a fitness fanatic (sp?) who runs and lifts weights quite often!:p I'm all for running around that stupid gym every day for the whole semester! It would be much better than drivers' ed, although my teacher for that class is quite amusing.:innocent: But I'd still rather be up and moving & sweating my way around a gym than slumped in a desk chair, worrying about flunking my driving test. That's just me though.:innocent: lol :p
But if it will make you feel better, I'll dig up the number so you can call and voice your complaint.;)

Haha, thanks anyway Dakota. I think I'm beyond calling your school now; I am in college and I did get to take equitation lessons as a PE credit. :p
An amusing school-story - My brother is taking Spanish 1 right now, and his teacher hadn't assigned him any homework all semester! Until today that is, when he was informed by another classmate that the writing in spanish on the far righthand side of the board that the teacher never mentioned, was the homework assignment... and is due the day of the test - aka, tomorrow! So bro got to spend hours tonight doing 17 workbook pages in his spanish book.
When he told me this story, I looked at him, smiled and said "Yo no hablo espanol" (I don't speak spanish - in spanish). For some reason he just doesn't appreciate my sense of humor! :innocent:
