So happy for her...
My kid with the Warmblood has had a rough time of it since her parents bought him for her. I was his 3rd trainer and the only one that could train him. The other two are used to TB's and a Warmblood that is stubborn and lazy caught them off guard. One of them actually is the best horseman I've ever met - with hotbloods.

Anyway - yesturday she had a break through. The horse is 3 1/2 and of course she's been bugging me to death to start him jumping but I won't let her until he's at least 4. So yesturday she saw me playing with Josie on the ground (see Josie thread) and wanted to try it. This was a surprise to me but I figured, sure, why not? I set up a teeny weeny obstacle no higher than 8 inches or so and let her teach him to "jump" on a long line. The 17h "pony" humored her and hopped over it both directions and even landed in a canter a couple of times. It was one of those days I wish I had a video camera.:) This is a kid that will ride all day but has little interest in ground work. When she unsaddled the horse to do ground work and I nearly passed out.

Thanks gals, it's been a long haul with him but they're finally working together rather than "he won't do anything". She was a classic case of a great rider who did not understand training.
** sorry...here's the pic again!

I'll show her this thread. She loves him, and under saddle she looks so good on him. However, like all teenagers- she thinks the pair of them look big and awkward.

I think most of us see pics of ourselves on our horses and we think we look "big and awkward." :) I think I look absolutely goofy on horseback, LOL.

They look like an awesome pair!
