Hope you pardon our dust as we work on getting everything put together here.

Since the site is still a work in progress, there will undoubtedly be a few problems that pop up from time to time, so if you run into one, or just get an error message you don't understand, please let me know!

Hi! Thanks for our new home! :)

My incoming friends request and edit button are slow and or not working yet.

But its Sunday and lots going on so - in due time. :)

Thanks for having us here! This is a great place.

er- I figured out my friends box works. I'd edit the above posts- but... :D

WashingtonBay
10-05-2008, 12:14 PM
Is everything else running fast, except Edit? I haven't experienced it being slow. Has anyone else had this trouble?

mtnmollie

Its not a fire so it so does not have to be fixed now. LOL. :)

I hit edit and ...testing-

WashingtonBoy

I hit edit and get a please wait and circle thingy.
And wait... and wait...

Hmm, it sounds like your computer might not like the javascript that opens the edit screen right there. I'll test it and see if I can find a problem. In the meantime, try this. Instead, right-click on the Edit button and select 'Open in New Tab' or 'Open in New Window'.

Wow! Thats a new dance fer my fingers to learn- right click. It worked- see post above- LOL> :) Thanks.

I just made a couple of edits that might have fixed the issue. Next time you try it, let me know if it works or not.

Can't seem to change the type or the colors- all that comes up are the codes. At least for me, anyway.

Not a big issue- just something to take note of.

WashingtonBay

Hmmmm....

Over on the right hand corner of the reply box is this button... http://baywindfarm.com/forum/images/styles/beige/editor/switchmode.gif

Click that. That toggles back and forth between the code mode and the WYSIWYG view.

BTW, if you posted it with all the codes... they'd post correct probably, when it posted.

I had this issue, but I just had to make sure to have the color be the last thing I did. I think the color code needed to be right before the text? Not sure, but that's what worked for me. Using the WYSIWYG mode that WB just posted about is tons easier, though! :D

I hit the left button and counted to 32 slowly and the circle thingy is still spiraling-
left click works on my JL board and dressage board. ?
right click works ok. This beats that place we came from even with no edit_ LOL> :D

He's got another batch of code revisions and customizations he's going to install tomorrow night. Maybe that will fix it.... we can hope.

I'm posting this for PeggySue.

She was able to register, and make one post, but then she got knocked off and locked out from the site.

She's not sure if her computer is the problem or not.

She'll be gone for a bit, but she was going to try again when she gets back.

If she can't get back on, I'll let you know!

Thanks!

WashingtonBay
10-06-2008, 01:31 PM
Gosh - What does she mean by "knocked off and locked out" I wonder!?

Tell her we're real sorry!

Have her quote any error message she gets to help hubby figure it out.

Gypsy Rose
10-06-2008, 01:38 PM
She finished a post, and evidently, the site logged her off. I THINK she was able to read but not post. If it's not working when she gets back, I'll get better clarification.

If all else fails, she'll send me an email to forward to you so you and WBoy can figure out what's going on. I'll make sure if there are any error reports that you get them! I'll also let her know that it will get figured out one way or another!

She HAS been having troubles with her computer, though, so we'll just have to wait and see!

Thanks!

Must have been her computer.

Just wanted to know why when you go to the member list, there says that there is 180 members, but at the bottom of the page (Where it shows whose on, whose the newest member, how many are active, etc) it says that there are 184 members???

WashingtonBoy
10-07-2008, 07:39 AM
There are currently three people that have registered, but have not yet clicked the link in their confirmation email, so they do not yet show up on the members list. There was also one test account that we banned while we were doing some testing.

I keep being logged out... does it just stay on a certain amount of time and automatically do this? Is there a way to change the setting so I don't have to relog in every hour?

WashingtonBay
10-07-2008, 02:05 PM
I don't think it's anything intentional that is logging you out. I haven't had that happen to me here. Is it when it's been sitting a long time or when you're actively clicking pages?

Is it normal to refresh a thread to see the post you made?
If I post here and it goes back to this screen, I don't see my post until I click the refresh button. It does this even with notifications... :(

I may not have posted for an hour but I've been clicking "new posts" every ten or fifteen minutes.. and then I go to post and it says "you're not logged in".

We'll see if hubby has any ideas when hubby reads it. Is it doing that to anyone else out there?

WashingtonBoy

The login timeout is currently set to 15 minutes. If you are inactive (not clicking any links) for that amount of time, you need to log in again.

If you check the Remember Me box when you log in, that shouldn't happen.

I think we figured that one out the other day... Iris had that issue. Look in your Tools-Internet Options (I think) and look for a setting that says to look for updates when you load new pages instead of using the cached version.

help...cant see my avatar picture???? It says the upload failed but I see it in the window as updated...????Hmmm, email it to me at admin (at) baywindfarm.com and I'll see if I can upload it for you, or at least figure out why it might have failed.

So today I went to post a new album and after uploading several pictures successfully, I was going to add 3 more but I get this message:

vBulletin Message
Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.
If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

Is there a max # of pics to an album? Thanks! :)

WashingtonBay
10-11-2008, 09:18 PM
Hmmm... I thought we were over that error. Try it again... if you get it again, look in this section for a thread by hubby on Security Token Errors... there's detailed instructions for how to clear it up.

Gypsy Rose
10-12-2008, 07:30 PM
Here's a good one for you!

When I tried to view the "Proud Momma" thread in Horse General Interest, this is what I got:

"Security Alert

You are about to view pages over a secure conection, blah, blah- we all know this one!

Oh, and here's where it gets good! I could not click ok, or use the x, or even refresh the page! The only way I could get out of it was to use cntrl-alt-del, close out the window there, and then reopen a new window!

What gives?

WashingtonBoy
10-12-2008, 07:39 PM
It looks like when the thread was originally posted, she mistakenly hotlinked images that were still in her Yahoo mailbox, so no one was able to see them and it caused the security errors you got. The thread has been fixed, so that won't happen now.

shagyaArab
11-17-2008, 07:47 AM
i also can't edit or quote and there is no "advanced" posting when i click the button. i've gone through and checked all my options and all other forums work for me so i don't know?

WashingtonBay
11-17-2008, 07:56 AM
Huh..... What browser are you using?

shagyaArab
11-17-2008, 06:22 PM
you mean like IE and all those? i use Mozilla Firefox

WashingtonBay
11-17-2008, 06:31 PM
OK - we use Firefox too. Hubby will be home soon, then we'll find out if he's got any ideas what it might be.

WashingtonBoy
11-17-2008, 06:48 PM
i also can't edit or quote and there is no "advanced" posting when i click the button.
So you mean you click the 'Edit' or 'Quote' or 'Go Advanced' button, and nothing happens?

Do you have any extensions installed that might be disabling Javascript?

shagyaArab
11-18-2008, 11:42 AM
there is no edit or quote button anymore and when i click go advanced it sets that up but you can't do anything like smilies, fonts, colors or anything.

not that i know of i'll check that out though

WashingtonBay
11-18-2008, 11:55 AM
Can you (do you know how to) take a screen capture of what a thread looks like for you... (one showing one of your posts)

And one of the advanced reply screen and what it looks like? - and post that?

I just can't get my head around the buttons just being 'gone', I'm wondering if there's something messed up about the way it's displaying your whole screen. I'd like to see it!

It's just odd, because it's obviously working for everyone else. It's something different about your machine, or the settings on your browser.

WashingtonBoy
11-18-2008, 07:07 PM
there is no edit or quote button anymore

That is really strange. The only thing I can think of is that you have an extension such as AdBlock that is being a bit overzealous and blocking images it shouldn't.

and when i click go advanced it sets that up but you can't do anything like smilies, fonts, colors or anything. That sounds like javascript is disabled. When javascript is disabled, the editor buttons show up, but they don't do anything when you click them. Go to Tools > Options > Content and make sure "Enable Javascript" is checked. There are also extensions such as NoScript that could be affecting that.

i don't know how

yeah javascript is working and whats weird is i'm also on HGS and that has the same setup as here and uses all the same things and that works fine for me

I have a button on my keyboard that says, "Print Screen/Sys Rq" I just click on that, open up MS Paint, paste it into there and save. People have so many different ways, but that's how I do it. If you have that button on your keyboard, I can definitely help you out. xD

WashingtonBay
11-19-2008, 07:21 AM
Yes, if cloe can walk you through it, I'd sure like to see.

We're really at a loss as to why this would happen to you and I'd just really like to see what you're faced with, and if there's something I can see. It's not an issue with the forum, I don't think, it's with your computer/settings I'm sure, but I would still like to help you get over it, obviously, if we can.

Also, if you have a chance to log in from a different computer where you can see it and perhaps be able to describe better what's different about the two, that might really help.

Do you have any images turned off either in your browser or in the forum?

Look through both your User CP settings here, and your browser settings in Firefox (Tools - Options)

Do you see your own images you just posted?

I ask because in the screenshots there are no images except the ad. Not your Avatar, not Cloes. And the other buttons, which are also images, are just gone.

I have a friend who singed up on her on 11-19, username is gopher. He's tried to post on the welcome thread, but can't. There's no quick reply, and when he tries regular post reply, he gets the notice that he does not have sufficient permission.
