 The sound on my laptop has suddenly stopped. I have no idea why. It was working before and then last night I tried to listen to some music and nothing happened. I thought it was the headphones, so I tried a different pair. Still didn't work. So I pulled out the headphones, the speakers aren't working!

It's not something simple like the sound's muted because I checked. :p

Sorry to hear that. My labtop, is acting up too! My "w" broke off & doesn't work at all, so that is such a deterant. Then when I turn my computer off then back on it makes this horrible LOUD beep beep beep noise at least 3 different times before fully turning on! This stupid debugger thing keeps popping up when I sign on to my AIM or Myspace IM. It's just driving me insane. Sounds like everyone's laptop is being wacko!

Do you have the little speaker icon in the toolbar on the lower right? If not, your driver may be off.

You can run a diagnostics through Control Panel.

I had that same thing happen to me a couple weeks ago. My husband fixed it & I will ask him tonight what he did. I think he downloaded something to fix it - a driver or something.

"Sounds" like a music driver needs to be updated. Did U fix your other problem with this laptop??

Did U fix your other problem with this laptop??

The problem with the internet needing to be turned off and on every day? Nope that's not fixed yet either.

Go to the maker of your computer and search their site for sound drivers for your computer. This will download an executable file. Once it is downloaded, run it and it should take care of the problem.

<---According to my computer-whiz husband.

Okay everybody I got it! Strangely enough all I had to do was go in and update one of the drivers and it immediately started working again. So you were right offgridgirl. :) Thanks all
