that is trying to be passed if you are over 10K.
Is that pulling weight? Is it truck n trailer?
I read about this on another board, new thread, so not much info.
Anyone?

Yes I heard about it. From what I heard was combined total weight of 10k and NO agricultural exemption. It is similar to the law we have here in Maine. If I haul in Maine I need to stop at all weigh stations, I do not need a CDL as long as I am hauling for rec and not showing (so everyone lies), as soon as I go out of state I do not need to stop. Go figure.

So, do you have a CDL then?

That's going to really be a pain- more time wasted. As if the truckers don't spend too many on duty hours driving as it is, lol!

Ya know, I was talking to my husband(trucker)and said, like the lines arent long enough as it is. You know that is gonna piss off the truckers. My husband has "pass" so he dosnt have to stop, he drives on by. So many truckers dont though, and have to stop at the scales. I can not see us pulling horse trailers and having to stop. And a CDL, come on. Id pass, but still, what a pain.

Add the horse trailers into the line, and like you said, there will really be some ticked off truckers- they're always on a tight schedule as it is.

I have heard it too, haven't done much research on it though! I heard the same thing that everyone else did. No agriculture exemption, so those people with 5th wheels are getting a little worried around here. We'll see where it goes, hope it doesn't pass. I mean I understand why, but it's really going to stink!

Vick- I do not have a CDL. I just lie if I am heading to a show and say I am heading to a friends to ride if I am stopped. I also say I own every horse on the trailer and that the horse is just in my friends name if they want to show at a big special show and I let her keep the horse at her house. Most of the time we get waved through because they know most are legal. Only once did I have to wait in a VERY long line and a really, really hot day. Just before I pulled up for it to be my turn I opened up my tack area and proceeded to water my horses (this was very deliberate timeing on my part), well that made the state trooper really mad and he came charging towards me. He told me I needed to be ready to pull up immediately, etc. etc. I simply told him that I have live cargo and they needed water as they had been sitting in a hot trailer with stagnat air inhailing fumes. I knew I would be a while longer and they were going to get water. He told me to pull off to the side. I just told him that I was sorry I was not able to do that as I am not that good driving a truck and trailer and it would be very difficult to do that (I could do it fine, I just refused too). He told me to pull through, water my horses and leave his area. Great, that is what I wanted to do anyways.
Most truckers get on the CB and will want the horse rigs put right through (no check waved through) as they don't want to wait any longer than they have too.

So are you saying it only applys to 5th wheels(goose necks)and not bumper pulls?
