Hey, guys!

---

Edited to add: He's a little ashy right now since he's getting ready to shed soon...I'll post more pictures after he sheds out and you'll get to see him with brighter, more vibrant colors!

---

This is my new baby ball python :) His name is Jinx. He's around 8 or 9 months old and is fairly small for his size. About two feet long (22 inches-ish), but you never see him all stretched out, since ball pythons tend to curl up into a ball or at least twine around something if given the opportunity :) The males tend to grow slightly smaller than females. He should mature to around three or four feet. I'm predicting that he's going to be a fairly small guy since he's so little at this age.

I used to have a young corn snake, but when I left for college I left her with my father. He forgot to weight the lid down and she escaped outside and we never saw her again :( So, Jinx is my new guy, after a couple years of being without. He's incredibly calm, friendly, and curious about everything around him. His favorite things are exploring and snuggling. So far, he loves curling up in my lap or in the pocket of my hoodie or snuggling underneath my laptop when I have it on my lap :) Nice and warm and dark under there!

So...Meet Jinx! :D

Cool. My brother had a full-grown one. It got loose in their house a bunch of times. He would always show up when he got hungry, though. :D

Cool Snake. My DH has one named Jabba. They are great pets. Neat idea about the cat collar with bells. I will have to share that with DH. I do get the hype jibes thinking of waking up with his snake in bed with me sometime.

My son has a corn snake named Striker. He is more active then Jabba and more likely to strike hint the name :) So just a tip always wash your hands after handling there dinner. Son forgot one time and one time only. lol !!

My husband used to work at a BOA breeder when he was a teen. He handled the feed AKA RATS. When he walked through the breeding cages after working with the "feed" he would have snakes hitting the windows of the cages on either side. Pretty freaky! It sounded like guns going off. I got to visit one time. The owner was pretty impressed that I was interested. For some reason everyone assumes since your a girl that you're gonna be all scared.

Thanks, Shadyhill! He's actually in a big plastic tub right now with newspaper on the bottom and holes drilled in the lid right now until I get to go home and get my large tank/terrarium ;) His hide spots are made out of microwaveable food containers and his water dish is a sawed off ramen cup! LOL I'm a college student, I had to work on a budget! :hysterial:

My grandma will probably never come visit me again now that I have a snake :D She's terrified of them too, lol.

My corn snake was FAR more aggressive and FAR less friendly and snuggly than Jinx is. Her name was Talulah, but I called her Lou or Louie for short ;) I miss her :(

And shewasmyshadow, that's a pretty interesting story! I actually used to have pet mice, for years and years, and long before I had pet snakes. It was kind of hard for me to get used to the idea of feeding them mice, but...such is life. I generally feed pre-killed, frozen ones which are safer since they can't put up a fight and hurt the snake and any parasites or bacteria in the live feed is killed off upon freezing ;)

Thanks, miatapony, half_passing_haffie, and elevenelevenxo.

Vicklynn, yes, I will fix the title! :D I didn't even think of that! Sorry anyone who looked and didn't want to!

Thanks, everyone who looked and commented :D

I love snakes! :) We used to have a corn snake named Corkey in my class when I was little. I've always wanted one but I couldn't deal with feeding it live animals

Sssssssuper cool snake! My Father is DEATHLY afraid of snakes...he goes all "Indiana Jones" even thinking about them! LOL! When I was little, he accidentally chopped up a momma garter snake and she was full of babies. I ended up saving the little ones and putting them in a tin cookie box without a top on it. Welllll, I thought they were cold, so I put the container on top of the dryer in the laundry room while it was running. The little squirts perked right up, escaped out of the box and continued to wander around our laundry room for the next week while I tried to find them one by one. Dad WAS NOT impressed to say the VERY least...ooops!!! :innocent:

he is so cute. he reminds me of my ball Keeper. i had to give him up our last move as well as my custom build tank i had for him. now i have to see if i can find a pic of him. he use to go everywhere with me in the summer, lol the look you get when you have a snake wrapped in your hair while grocery shopping are too funny.

zoel, when I was in the fifth grade we had a corn snake named Twister! :) That's where my snake fascination began!

Thanks, outriding!

luckydoublesranch, that is an AWESOME story! My dad always tells this story about how when he was a kid he had a python that was pregnant and it escaped...had it's babies inside the washing machine! When my grandma went to go do the laundry, she got a biiiiiig surprise! :hysterical:

dustys_gurlly, Keeper was so handsome! :) I'm looking forward to taking Jinx outside once it warms up!
