View Full Version : Woohoo..Cheyenne placed in EVERY event! (pics)

Wow....what a weekend!

Cheyenne and I got up and loaded the trailer yesterday and brought Ladybird to the gymkhana. We were running around like maniacs because we were behind schedule. The arena had a costume contest first. There were so many neat costumes and I have to say, I have never seen so many patient horses. :eek: Most horses would have blown up having all that stuff on them.

After the costume contest, we started the events. But had to stop for about an hour, because one girl had an accident and had to be airlifted to the hospital. It wasn't in the arena, she was outside of the arena, got off her horse and fell, but while she was on the ground, her horse stepped on her spine. Just a freak accident, and we are waiting to hear how she is doing.

Anyway, here are the pics from yesterday...Ladybird was such a good horse! She got lots of treats and hugs.

Here she had to go around the pole and grab a piece of candy off the pole. She was so excited that she got it on the first round!

way to go Cheyenne!! Great pictures.. What calm horses with some of those costumes.. I have a feeling ben would not be allowing some of those haha

WOO HOO!!!!!! do you know how the girl that got hurt is? I hope and pray it wasn't serious......

They look so wonderful. I love the pirate idea!!!
Did she get first in that???

My lady was a hooker. All dressed up in black taffeta, red border, red feather boa up her neck, she had 2 garter belts with 100 fake dollar bills in them...lol
She won first place.

As for the costume contest, Chy didn't place. :( The fisherman, the purple horse and the egyption horse all took prizes. But that's ok, we all had fun. Well, not sure that Ladybird enjoyed that part, but the kids had a blast.

that scenery is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love her costume! And the purple horse is very original...

Good Job Cheyenne! I loved the costumes!! I used to do that every year at a halloween horse show, it was my favorite part!

LOL. Ladybird definitely looked happier without the pirate hat, but I'm glad your daughter had fun! She will remember all these horsey events when she is older for sure!

Chy is so cute, and looks so good out there! That looks like fun, makes me want to get out and go to horse shows again! And man, look at those mountains, it is so beautiful out there! And your son is adorable too! Great pictures Country Girl!

Great pictures!!!! I was all happily watching along and then bam!! Saw those mountains in the background and I just have to say I'm so jealous! lol. What a pretty place you live in!!

And your girl looks adorable as a pirate!!!!!! So sad about the girl getting stepped on. I hope she is okay. Update us too when you find out!

Those are some amazing costumes, super creative. Ladybird and Cheyenne looked great! She's quite thee cowgirl, eh? ;) Thanks for sharing the pictures and story, they were great!

Ladybird is such a good horse. just look how tolerant she is. That horse is really teaching your kids ALOT!!!

I really felt sorry for Ladybird....LOL....she puts up with SO much! But she has taken great care of my kids!

Way to go, Cheyenne and Ladybird!:D Great pics, I love their costumes!:) I'm dressing up my horses for halloween, too. LOL.:cool: I was going to enter them in the costume contest Owl was hosting, but that was on horse.com and I don't know if she came over and registered here (I'm not on that forum anymore). So I guess no contest for us.:( But I'm still dressing them up anyway because I'm really getting a kick out of it- lol!:p :D

Oh how cute they all look. And yes such good horses to wear those costumes. Cheyenne looks like she is having a great time in those pictures. She looks very confident and in controll. The horse stepped on her spine! :eek:Boy, I hope the girl will be ok..

OMG, She is stunning just like her mom, LOL and what a great job.Jake is like ladybird real patient and lets Chloe do anything on him, Knight is a little more frisky. How much fun that must of been. And it gave me some ideas for our next funshow at the stable. Your boy's a looker too, oh if I were 40 years younger, LOL

Hey MsEddi....the "candy stick" was great, made it easier for kids to grab a piece of candy off the pole!

Unlike picking candy out of a bucket, the kids don't have to "lean" over and try to reach in a bucket on a barrel, instead, they just get close to the pole and grab a piece of candy from "their" level. I liked it much better, because Ladybird doesn't like to get close to a barrel and she is GREAT on the poles.
