Seriously, could my week get ANY worse!?!?!??!
I was pulled over doing 82 in a 55. In my defense, I wasn't just "doing 82," I had sped up to get away from a pocket of traffic that kept boxing me in, cutting me off, speeding up and slowing down to 20mph UNDER the speed limit....I got a chance to get away from them and I took it....right in front of a cop.
$155 later.....
Yeah, I know....I have no one to blame but myself for that one. Not making excuses nor did I even try to argue about it. But just kind of icing on the cake for a bad week. :(

i have yet to get pulled over for speeding but i always have the excuse that my speedometer is off so i thought i was going the speed limit, lol. you always have to have a excuse for cops, so far i have been pulled over 4 times and only got one ticket(each time was for the same thing, darn hubby for putting the wrong plates on my truck:innocent: )

Well, this sounds horrible but if the officer had been a male, I think I probably could have gotten him to pity me and let me go with a warning. I was in tears just because of the stress of everything in general right now, not because I was trying to get out of a ticket....the officer was a woman though and when she asked what I was in such a hurry for, I explained how I was just frustrated with traffic and how I was just laid off and I'm not doing too well right now. She sympathized and let me off a LITTLE easier, but not scot free. :( Can't argue with that....I shouldn't have let it get to me. Driving really frustrates me at times, especially when I can't escape the idiocy.....but that's certainly no excuse to go that fast. Sigh.

Geez that's a bummer....I've had it happen where traffic just came up on me and got real ugly and scary (hate those semi trucks!), so I would just gun it and get out of there as fast as I could. And I sure do know what you mean about being pulled over by a woman cop, I've only had that happen to me once and let me say that she really had a nasty attitude right from the git go.....

Careful with that one! If you get a cop in a bad mood, they can write you up for your speedometer not working properly. Something about a defective vehicle or whatever. I learned that in drivers ed when we were going over "what not to say to a cop".
I guess all the budget cuts in my county are hurting the PD, because they have been setting up speed traps like crazy. My street is at the bottom of a huge hill right off the parkway through town, so all the cops set up here to catch people coming down the hill. Its not unusual to pass six or seven police motorcycles/cars/SUV's sitting in a row taking turns. They also bust people for not slowing down/moving over when theres a stopped police car with lights on.
I'm lucky I've been driving for a year (18 months including permit) and have not had a ticket yet. And no, its not because I drive the speed limit and observe all the traffic laws:innocent:

LOL! Maybe!
I tell ya what, I drove much slower today. :innocent: I only did 5-10 over......:p
Jk.....but I did pay much more attention to the speed limit and tried to not let traffic get to me.
