YouTube - Santa Ana Winds

I wanted to show ya'll how windy it can be when the Santa Ana Winds fly through here. The gusts are actually stronger now then in the video, which I took this morning.
LIke Vicor sticking his nose in the camera? :D

Wow no kidding. It gets like that around here sometimes b/c we live right off the Delaware Bay. O I got to say it is def. beautiful where you live at too!! And you have a twin in Delaware! A friend of mine looks just like you!! (It's a good thing) Thanks 4 sharing!

Oh wow you have such a nice set-up there, so nice to have your horses so close. When I had my horses at my mom and dad's house they were right out the back door, I loved it!

The winds sure do whip thru there...holy cow! The trees were just a-whippin'!! How long do they generally last? Vic is one handsome fella!!

I can tell, from the sound and the palm trees. It would help if you want to show the movement of the trees, if the camera were much more still.

When it's windy here, it's rarely that sunny, and we don't have dust. ;) It's deceiving that it may actually be cold (hence the blanket and your hood) because with sun and palm trees, it looks warm!

Cool set up, with the horses right outside your door! Nifty!

As everyone as said, I really like your set up! Very neat! The winds look like fun, ha ha. I should get some videos of when Hurricane Ike hit, the winds that is, they were insane! Victor is a cutie. xD

ACK!! The Devil Winds! Thanks for the reminder - lol lol

I lived in Riverside County for five years and I was not fond of the "sand white-outs" the Santa Ana's can cause - especially when I was trying to get to work - lol lol

I was trying to figure out if I recognized where you live, but I can't - lol lol lol I almost thought Green Acres, just below Hemet, but I think I am way off base.

I lived just a little west of Homeland/Green Acres and could ride thru the hills to that area--until all the potato fields got sold and now there are houses so close that a Pomeranian could jump roof-to-roof.

If I rode to the right spot, I could see the Domenigoni Reservoir on the far side of Hemet. It was kind of eerie to see such a huge body of water appear "out of nowhere" in the low desert - lol lol

Walkin- I'm very close the the Mira Loma/Norco line!! Very close!!!
By Jurupa High School, at night you can see them playing baseball! :-D

Thanks everyone. I too love the set up we have, compared to many of the "barns" you see in our area we are the Hilton!! :D
The Mountain you see in the distance is Mt. Baldy.

Remali- ALL DAY :( lol They are supposed to stop on Wednesday. It's windy season, the winds come whipping down out of the mountains and we're basically the wind tunnel! I have to water the plants 3 time a day because everything just drys out!

WB- I tried to hold the camera still lol...not easy in the winds. The ponies all have their fly masks on to try and keep as much dust out of their eyes as possible. Yeah, the winds are cold! Inbetween gusts you want to strip off you sweatshirt but as soon as it picks up again your burrowing back inside. :D

Looks like the winds weren't bothering Vic too much!

Love your horse setup!

So what do the wind speeds average during the Santa Ana season?

I remember them Santa Ana's...I'd 'bout get blown over walking to and from class. It seriously felt like someone was pushing me to one side, given I'm kinda little, still I've never felt wind quite as strong as when I lived down there. You place reminds me of all the horse estates in Chatsworth :)

Man oh man, I love your set up. Just awesome girl!!
As far as the winds. Well, we get those often, between Nov and April....lol
Fun, arent they fun? I dont blanket the horses though, unless its cold.
They are used to it.
I tell ya, with that sand, Id also be blanketing the one horse, and using the masks like you said you were going to do. Good job!!
Did I say, nice set up? LOL

HeHe ! Looks like the wind they have at my MIL's house. She lives on top a mountain. If you don't tie everything down its gone.
