Anyone here good at writing up resumes who wants to help me with mine? How in the world do you just make it "POP".....especially if you have limited experiences? See, I have quite a bit of work experience, but one, for example, was a kennel job from hell where I quit because my bi-weekly paychecks were more like tri-weekly, I was forced to stay late almost everyday because the girl who relieved me was late, and though with overtime I was working full-time, I wasn't getting the benefits, AND I had to handle dogs with aggression/severe behavioral problems...without ever even being shown how to put on a muzzle (one dog was HUMAN and dog-aggressive and had to have a muzzle put on him to be turned out into the run and I nearly was attacked one day by him because he wiggled his way out of it). I was bit badly by a St. Bernard who was dog aggressive and trying to get a Golden Retr. puppy.....the job was doing a doozy on my sanity, so I had to leave. I gave a week's notice because I NEEDED to be out of there. I had received praise from my boss in general, but she wasn't happy about that and getting my last paycheck was a real joke...she e-mailed me the night I left my notice with her to tell me since I'm not dedicated to the dogs, to just not bother coming back. So....I can't really put that place down even though I feel like overall I did an excellent job at this place considering just how it was to work there.
And the rest of my experience is retail, where 2 of the 3 stores have closed and for the 3rd, the manager left, so I have no idea what to put down.....not to mention retail just isn't that great of a thing to have down unless you were management, which I wasn't.
So.....any help or suggestions?

If you use MS Word, use their resume template. As someone who used to hire, I liked resume's short and to the point. Wait with the detailed descriptions until the interview.

still put down all of your work that you've done, including retail...and the contact info as you knew it when they were open. Usually the past work history they don't contact until after they've interviewed you and you will be able to tell them that a couple of those places are no longer in business...but most places prefer to see few if any gaps in employment. I still put down the two fast food places I worked at in High School and College as well as the sporting goods store I worked at that my parents owned (I've only ever had a few jobs, so it shows that I've been employed constantly since I was 15). Now if you've had many jobs, you could cut the small stuff out like that and put other jobs in and in your cover letter state that you are a dedicated worker who has been employed since you were __ years old

If you want, I can send you a resume writing guide I have. I'm supposed to be writing a resume for a class (due tomorrow!) and it's the guide we got. It's a class that's supposed to teach us what kind of jobs we can get with our major, and how to get a job so it's pretty good. I have them in powerpoint and pdf formats (they're too big to post here) so just let me know!

Put down ALL your work experience, but if you get a section, put down what you think this helped you develop - e.g., "I think ym job at Lumley Castle has helped me develop better conversational/communication skills as I must gie out instructions in a friendly manner, whilst enabling guests to enjoy their time" or whatevs :)
I hated tryingto write a CV (curriculum vite = resume over here) without any qualifications to put on it! I was like "well...I um...volunteer?" and that about it xD
