So happy!

Hey everyone!

After months of waiting I finally found a wonderful home for our draft cross gelding Van Gogh who was diagnosed with EPM last spring. She's an older woman who just lost her 8 year old draft cross due to his aorta rupturing. :( So she needs to find another horse to keep her 17 year old QH company. The vet is coming out tomorrow to pull blood for a Coggins and then she will be coming to pick him up in March since she lives 5.5 hours a way. She also has experience with horses with EPM so that is just a plus!

I'm so excited and really hope everything goes smoothly. Most of all I hope Van Gogh is a good boy. It is always a concern of mine with our older boys who are so use to our routine. Some of them really enjoy their retirement but a select few come back to us and live out the rest of their lives here just because they can't adjust to anything else!

With everything going on with Banjo I kind of forgot about the good stuff that has happened. Van Gogh went to his new home this past Sunday!

He loaded on the trailer beautifully and his new mom said he unloaded gracefully. He got the walking tour of his new pasture, and got to meet his new horse buddy Jasper. They are getting along great (see not all of our horses are bullies!) and she sent me this picture. I just had to post it and you can't really see her face so I don't think she'll mind. I love how he looks so relaxed! You can click the picture to see the larger version.
