$838B plan passes 61-37, goes to House-Senate conference to work out differences
The Senate approved an $838 billion economic recovery package bill Tuesday, as Democrats held on to the few Republican supporters who helped hammer out a compromise measure last week.
The bill passed on a mostly party-line vote of 61-37. Sixty votes were needed. Three Republicans joined Democrats in passage.
Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., vowed to send a finished bill to Obama's desk "as soon as possible."

Eh - what difference does it make, it's not real money, right? ;)

There are those that believe there is a movement to devalue the dollar. Not sure how it would work, but supposedly it's to open the doors for money like the Euro, just Canada, Mexico and the US.

Since Mexico is on the brink of collapse, why would we want to "join" them?

Things keep going as they are, I'm thinking of slipping south across the border to get some peace, quiet and security. J/K, but it could happen some day soon. Mexicans may be screaming about all of the illegal aliens from the north.

We might not get in. Mexico has real strict immigration laws and enforces them. They are too lengthy for me to print here, but do a search. Some US groups would like us to adopt them. I'm for it.

Briefly, you have to show that you have the money to be self supporting. That you will contribute to the betterment of the country and commerce. That you have never been in trouble. If they want, they can throw you out. You have to report frequently and the police and immigration staff monitor your whereabouts. It goes on and on.

I love the self supporting requirement. What irony.

I hear ya Mare. Has anyone been keeping up with the rancher that is being sued by 16 illegals for infringing on their rights. He caught them on his property and turned them over to the border patrol. Check out this link.
