sorry, i know i just posted a thread not to long ago, but ya'll are just gonna have to suffer through another one, LOL> ;)
Well....ive been training Dante to go western, and it's goin' pretty good. :) she neck reins like a pro now (she occasionaly need a little reminder), and has a fabulous jog. haven't worked on her lope yet, though...was going to yesterday, but the arena was pretty crowded.
We celebrated Valentine's Day early, I brought out some special treats (carrots, candy hearts & peppermints) & did some carrot stretches, which she really enjoyed. :) She also got a good massage & grooming.
And now for a slight vent. / = So, after our ride, I brought Te back into the barn, to take her bridle off, brush her down & get her cribbing collar back on. There was someone in the back set of cross-ties (It's a small barn, only 2 sets of cross-ties. between them/ to the side there's an open area, there's some hooks & what not). Ok, fine, nothin wrong w/ that. I walk Dante back to quick grab her halter off of one of the hooks. It's quite out of the way of the girl & her horse, so no big deal for me to grab it. I've done this before, never bothered anyone. I'm about to grab the halter, and Dante pins her ears a little, as in "ugh, allie, there's a horse over there..", just being a mare, no glaring or attempt to go over & bite this horse. What does this girl do? She yells "I don't like my horse ATTACKED in the cross-ties!!!" -um...what?- The snobbish girl (i think she was about 17ish) then proceeds to grab dante's reins, quite close to the bit, and yank her back, jabbing my poor horse so hard in the mouth, and saying "LOOK at her ears. NOT a good idea!!!" um, excuse me?! does this girl have any right to grab my horse and yank her back & jab her in the mouth? ugh... i had perfect control of Dante...she's a mare. she's gonna pin her ears- especially if some unfamiliear girl grabs her & starts screaming....:nono:

anyways....:o here's pics of dante modeling her newish bridle. ( =
(throatlatch isn't that tight- she has a lot of poof down there)

aww look at the pretty pony! :)

Love the new bridle!

I don't exactly understand why she grabbed Dante's bridle if you were barley near her horse, not in kicking distance or anything. Poor dantes mouth..... I guess she was worrying for her horse but being a tad overprotective.

That girl sounds extremely rude. I would've given her hell! Ug.

EEEEWWWOOOO, that would have made me mad. Guess it's good you held your cool, being a boarder and all, but she shouldn't have touched. All any of us do if one gets out of line is wave our arms and say a stern Aaank! That's all they need, and yours doesn't sound like she even needed that!

I like her browband also.

That girl was way out of line.....if she does it again, mention it to your barn owner and ask if maybe she'll have a chat with her. That's absolutely unacceptable and a quick way to ruin a good horse!

Cute bridle! Dante looks lovely. :)

Very cool bridle!!
I would have yanked her horses bridle. See how she likes her horse's mouth hurt for no reason.

Nah....no sense in hurting something that has no idea or control of what's going on. :)

But I hope you do talk to your BO, Doc!

Cute photos!

That girl had no right to grab your horse like that! How rude & I feel sorry for your horse's mouth.

That girl who did that was way out of line, she had no right to touch your horse at all. If anyone ever did that to my horse I would have them backed up into a corner and I would have told them off and explained to them that it had better not ever happen again. I would really have a talk to the barn owner about this girl's actions....she sounds like she has an explosive temper and takes liberties and gets abusive with other people's horses....I would tell the BO you have a concern over someone's outburst and their actions were abusive and she seems to have a pretty bad temper.
