Hi and welcome :) If I might ask, who referred you to us?

Hubby and I live a little over an hour South of Seattle. I'd say there might be a reasonable number of good opportunities here for employment in horses if you're good, but you kindof have to luck into them. It's all a matter of timing.

We like the area though. Good luck if you make this move!

I live in seattle. I would say there opportunities here but you have to make them or as WB says luck into them. the surrounding area is ripe with equestrian facilities. I ran a youth operation for 6 yrs. but now I keep my horse- oddly enough about an hour south of WB. I believe horses are the fourth largest industry in the state.

I live on the Kitsap Peninsula, a 45 minute ferry ride due west of Seattle. Drive time via freeway is about the same depending where in Seattle he would work. A lot of folks who work in Seattle live in this area as housing is much cheaper. We have lots of training stables here. Two counties to check out online would be Kitsap County and Pierce County. Craigslist is handy for horse training jobs and housing. John L. Scott Real Estate and Windermere Real Estate are both very good and are in Seattle and this area if you get that far and both have websites.

I like your website - very nice! Let us know how it goes.:)

Use Google to search around up there. I don't know any personally, but I bet there's many stables. The North End has had a lot of suburban growth... Cost of land is pretty high up there... not so good for new land buyers, but not bad for those who have boarding stables to accommodate suburban horsey hobbies. :)

The further North you go, the more agricultural it is. The further East... more mountain and timberland.

I have lots of horse friends in the North and East area(Redmond,Woodinville, Carnation and Duvall). There are some great places to trail ride and some big Hunter/jumper Barns. I will have to ask to see if any r hiring. If you come for a visit, then go look in the area you will be in:cowboy:

I live far west of Seattle in Clallam County, WA. I agree that there is a lot of horse business in the state. I think personal connections (AkA LUCK) have a lot to do with a successful horse business. That, and having a very nice, clean, atrractive facility. The economy is way down right now, so fewer people are spending money on horses and training. Good luck, and welcome to Washington.
