.. Not for me! I have enough! Lets see.. ;) Prod and Soco, all mine. Raen, Razz, and Tyke, half mine. LOL. Lucky I only have to exercise Soco and Tyke and Razz(until she is sold in the summer/fall).. Raen gets ridden by my boyfriend. :D

But this one is for Dan, my Mom's boyfriend. We've been searching for a HUBBY horse for him but couldn't find any that met all of the qualifications and were less than 3 hours away. I found one just recently though and so far he sounds perfect. He is a 15.3hh registered Saddlebred/Arabian cross, 17 years old. Sorrel with almost the same markings as Soco-- a blaze and three stockings. Anyone can ride him. He is VERY pretty!
He will just be used for trail riding. :) I hope he's what we're looking for and that Dan likes him.

Here he is;

He is lovely. Would be fun to photograph. What happened with Dan's other horse? Did I miss that?

That first photo makes his paterns seem really straight. . .second one not as bad. . .

We sold Ranger, Mom and I finally (politely) convinced him that Ranger needed a more experienced owner as he had several issues. He was too much of a handful for Dan and learned he could intimidate him.

His pasterns actually aren't too bad IMO looking at the other pictures I was sent. The worse I can see on him is he has a very flat croup. I asked what bit she rides him in and she said a 5" mullen mouth eggbutt.

He looks like a sweety - miatapony was right about the eye :) Sounds like a good idea too. Just one more and it'll all be over, for now :P hope he works out OK in the flesh and you get him alright!

He's really pretty FSA. That flat croup will be the arabian in him. They have level croups (usually) so that's what that'll be about. Nothing to worry about conformationally in my opinion, as it's part of his breed characteristic. Good luck with him and I hope he works out for your moms bf.

Well, total failure!

I thought he was an extremely nice horse, very pretty, big, very well trained.. however, too much horse for Dan! He was jittery and bucked a little tiny bit at the lope(The lady said "that's the first time he's ever done that!".. Well, the man who sold me Melee also claimed the same thing.) He had a lot of go and was very forward moving. Dan needs a deadhead, a true "hubby horse."

So we'll keep searching.

Thanks for the update. Interestingly, I was thinking that he might be a bit too energetic when I saw his photos and descriptions. I think that cross is a bit on the hotter side. I'm sure Dan's horse is out there, though. :)

We figured it might be worth a try because the ad said anyone could ride the horse. Anyone. And that he had a "seen it, done it, don't care" attitude-- far from that, IMO. :(

He said no more Arabs, Thoroughbreds, whatever. I just wish he realized that not all of them are goony horses.

Arabs and Saddlebreds are supposed to have a flat croup.

He's old enough to be pretty settled, but Saddlebreds aren't known for being laidback. He might not be a good choice for someone who just wants a relaxing, uncomplicated ride.

Yeah, but from the ad it seemed that he was a really nice, relaxing and easy horse to ride.. Thought maybe he could be one of those horses that ya know, doesn't go along with the stereotype.

Only he's pretty much dead set on an Appaloosa. Sigh.

There's actually a QH/App he's considering.. Really well broke, same place Soco came from. Only he's 15hh and 19-22 years old.. Not positive. Not sure if it'd be healthy for an older, shortish horse to be packing 250 pounds around and up/down hills.. might have to ask opinions on this.

But thanks. :)

That's too bad that it didn't work out. That was a really pretty horse. I'm sure his horse is out there somewhere.

Man, shame that didn't work out for you :( Hmm, the other one you're considering...I suppose it just depends how he is physically. Personally I'd look for something with a bit more height, but that's just me.
My fingers are crossed for you, Morgan!
