Muffins fault? lol :happydance:
She is a cutie!! I bet come summer she will be really pretty!! With that dull winter coat off, all nice and shinny :D
Muffin is a PMU too (though I got him as a 10 month old). The thing with the Mares that are used on PMU farms is there really good with people behind them and working around or near there back end because they put those collection things on them. But, there not really social with there front end. Not all are this way but most of the time the people don't really love on them or pet there heads so there not used to it. But, if she has the draft personality, I would think it would be pretty easy to get her social and loving attention.
She sure is a neat looking mare! I would love to see pictures of her come sumer;)

I would love to give you more pics in summer......now we just need to convince hubby to say yes.....I "swear" I'll find Jorie a home I "swear";)
Plus I need to build up my heard so I can have a good start when I start my riding school for kids and focusing on sign language huh? Rescues are also a good teaching tool, showing that compassion can go along way.....see you are riding a rescued horse and all they needed was lovin......

Ooh, I can see how you fell for her. Best not to even click on links like that one. Too dangerous. :) A horse like that with Muffin's disposition would be wonderful!

Okay so I got an e-mail from the rescue
Thanks for the inquiry. This horse is available and is located in ND on the Canadian border.
It is in a herd, unhandled, a clean slate, has had minimal human contact. This horse is adopted as is. The horses have a coggins, and basic health inspection for traveling. The mare is bred, due to foal in May. There is no live foal guarentee. She must be transported by early April. The horses can get a comprehensive vet check at the adopter’s expense. These fees are to be paid directly to the vet. Vaccinations and worming can be done for an additional fee when we draw the coggins. We will need a list of what is required in your area of the country. This will be documented on the health certificate. Payment for this is due before pick up at the ranch. We will send you pricing on this upon request.
It is our experience with these horses that they are somewhat shy and a little scared. But they have come around directly proportionate to the amount of time spent with them. We have successfully placed over 500 horses in 4 years. Please check our success stories on our website. We can also send references upon request. We at the rescue have done the transport for our adoptions for the past 4 years. Due to health issues, we are no longer making our trips. Transportation is the responsibility of the adopter. You can post on www.uship.com. This is a site that transporters will bid for the jobs.
You can come up to ND to pick up the horse. There is a fee of $75 a month board starting 30 days after receipt of payment until you can pickup your horse. Your donation for the adoption fees, and boarding can be a tax deduction as we are a 501 (c) non-profit. Please go to www.serenityacresnm.com and complete an adoption application online, and pay the $20 application fee on paypal on our donation page.
I will check your reference and get back to you in a few days. At that time the adoption fee, $75 for coggins and inspections is due. You can pay with a bank wire transfer, or pay on paypal on our donation page. There is a 4% surcharge when using paypal. You can also OVERNIGHT MAIL a cashier’s check to:
Serenity Acres
* ALL fees are non refundable.
If your adoption is not compatible, we will relist your horse to help you to rehome it.
Going to talk with hubby......seeing if we can make a road trip.

Are you up to having to deal with an unhandled draftx mare that's close to foaling? Seems like a lot of work and projects to me(Mare, foal, Tucker, Pearl), but if you have the time and money then I say go for it.
