i had just gotten my pony one and i feel so bad... its said on the package that it was water proof. and i had them out today and with this wet snow ( all the other ones hold up just fine! even the saddle horses polar shields were dry underneath.) and his was soaked through... he was like a drown rat.... i felt so bad.... and i paid $40 for it.... i can't afforded more than that...
just didn't know if anyone has had or heard anything about them.

That's not good!

I have never personally heard of the blankets. Are you sure it was waterproof, or could it have said water-resistant?

For a blanket to be successfully waterproof, it needs to have the highest denier count possible. They range in anywhere between 600 denier and 1800 denier. A blanket in the 600 denier range would have less water resistance than a blanket in the 1800 denier range. As the number gets higher, the number of fibres wound together gets denser. In my area, a good sheet with a high denier (with no filling) runs between $80 and $180.

A blanket with a higher denier will also be harder to rip, but that doesn't seem to phase a lot of horses. ;)
