Hi all....well I sent the first check off to Patriots today. It was from the money collected from those that submitted Paypal pmts. So far we have 1/2 of what is needed to get Dreamer the hay to get through the winter. Once I have the donations from those that have mailed in, I will send out another check to Patriots. She should be able to get her first load of hay this week, and then another load next week if we get enough funds in the mail.
I want to thank all of you who have offered support one way or another.....financially or prayers. Both are good....:) If anyone still wants to contribute, please pm me and I will get you the address for mailing or the paypal account.
So here is the first part of the journey......
Arriving at the PO....

Yeah, I figured pictures would be a good idea to help keep everyones mind at ease. I wish I knew how to do a "snap shot" of the paypal list without showing important info...if you know what I mean. I'm not real good at that computer stuff, but at least it would show what has come in and that it IS going to Patriots.
She will be doing pics on her end too. :) If she can operate a camera with one hand.........

The pictures are cute! Hopefully our mail will be quicker than usual and you'll get the envelope soon.
I hope Dreamer will enjoy his hay. My old horse was so picky with hay it was a nightmare every yr trying to find something he'd like! He got really picky about Feb. when he wanted green grass and then we were running all over looking for hay he'd like even though we had a barn full that was fine for him a few weeks before! He was very spoiled!!!!!
The two I have now aren't so picky but yet they do like some types better than other depending on what field it came from. We get all of our hay from friends now but they hay all different fields in our area. They like 2nd cutting better than 1st but I mix it since they eat the 2nd so fast they don't have enough to hold them all day. They eat the 1st cutting slower.
Thanks for the pictures, I enjoy pictures not because I don't trust what you are doing, I totally trust you, I just like looking at pictures!!!! Your daughter is beautiful and I love her name.

Oh Country--what a great idea to show the paper trail. It definately will ease some people's minds. I have found that if there is nothing else to eat, my horses will eat the hay they're not really thrilled about in the beginning.:)

I got home around 1030 from an appt. and had a note from the post office saying theres a package for me! Ill pick it up later today. I also sent the pic of my hand to fox fire and she is going to post it on her later this afternoon once she gets out of class. The pic is from last friday right before i got the stitches taken out. You can see how the right side of my hand is still kind of deformed, but it looks 110% better than it did. ill get back on later today, as for now, im off to take a nap!

That picture of my hand is after 2 surgeries to remove bone/reconstruct, and some plastic surgery to make it look kinda normal, 3 weeks total after the accident. It looks 110% better in those pics than it did right after the accident. i have the best hand specialist in our area and he did both surgeries. I had a cast on that hand but they had to cut it off because the hand was trying to lock up and tendons were trying to fuse. i have 6 pins in that hand total, and go to physical therapy 2-3 times a week. i have to bend that hand or it will become basically like a stick! Its hard to make someone hurt themselves, even though they know they have to. I do exersizes for it 3 times a day as well and still have very little movement on the right side of my right hand. ill post more recent pics.

oh yea and my 4th metacarpal is cracked 1/4 the way and the 5th metacarpal is broke, i have 1 pin in it, it was a clean break and that pin is permanent. my 5th proximal phalanx had compound fractures. It has the rest of the pins in it. 2 permanent 3 temporary. It was really shattered right at the joint which is where the temp. pins are. i tore the ligaments on one side at that joint.

It is amazing what Dr's and plastic surgeons can do. I had a fellow friend fall out of a tree stand & fracture cervical spine & they said he would never be able to turn his head left to right.... guess what after a bunch o surgerys.. & PT he can do it!! Yay! Thank God for advances on SOME medicine technology. HUH!

So far we have 1/2 the amount needed for all the hay that is needed to get Dreamer through the winter. The first money order that I sent was from the Paypal donations and my own "front" money. Once I get the checks from everyone that has offered to send in checks, I will deposit all those and send another bulk amount.
Patriots I am so glad Dreamer is going to be getting his hay. Sorry the note was so short, but I was in a hurry and had to grab a form at the Post Office to write the note....LOL. I had to run to a neighboring City to drop off a B-day present to a local forum member here. But you were first on my list of things to do. :)
Now get some rest gal after you get the first load of hay.

Well its been a busy weekend, sorry i couldnt get on more. I managed to work friday and saturday but it literally took all i had and i was drained afterwards. I cleaned scarlett up on saturday, and i had a stud chain on her because i couldnt take any chances of anything happening and its a good thing i did have that on because she started being onry, spooked and BUSTED the chain in two. They picked her up sunday. She normally JUMPS into the trailer, and it takes less than 20 seconds to load and tie her. She refused to get in the trailer and it took probably 30 minutes to get her in.
He is feeding her cut up apples infront of the trailer

In the trailer, she is looking through a little door that opens up infront of the manger, looking at me and sniffing my hand, i just kept telling her it was going to be okay.

Really...I didn't do anything. We ALL did! I just wanted to make sure that Dreamer and Patriots stayed together. I just couldn't see him going anywhere but with Patriots. Sometimes things happen in life that we don't expect. Usually it's just a small set back till we can get back on our feet again.
I saw this with Patriots and decided to ask for the help, since I knew she never would ask. The forum FAMILY came through. That is what matters. I am glad that Dreamer will be able to stay HOME.....where he belongs. :)
We have a STRONG forum family and I would also like to thank WashingtonBay for keeping this topic on top so it didn't get lost and also for building this new forum so we could all come together again.
This was a forum effort and a BIG thank you goes out to everyone for their help whether it was financially or spiritually.

YAY!!!! We did it!!! I truly believe that animals bring people together and seeing how many people pitched in here just makes me believe it more! I'm so happy that this story has a happy ending.
BTW - PD, I LOVE that last photo of you and your baby kissing!

I loved the pics! It's so great how everyone pulled together to help.:)
Does this mean no more donations are needed.. because I just mailed out mine yesterday.:o I wanted to send it last week but an issue with an unexpected cell phone bill ate up all my funds. I just got my check yesteray, so I didn't have the money until now.

LOL Dakota....anything over the hay amount will go towards Dreamers boarding fees or shoer or whatever else he needs. So anything received will go towards Dreamers needs, till Patriots can get back to work full time.

I am so proud of everyone who were able to contribute to Dreamer staying with his mama. If you were not able to send money, please know that your good wishes and prayers were greatly appreciated. I wish I could have done more, but like so many, things are really tight for us right now.
It was wonderful to see this all come together. I loved all the pictures, well not the ones of your hand, I almost passed out too. Actually it made my knees hurt:eek: Strange but when I see stuff like that instead of having a sick feeling, my knees hurt. I have sensitive knees.........
The picts of Dreamer and his money were hilarious! He is such a pretty boy. And I have a red truck too! And its a Chevy! Yay, Red Truck Owners unite!:grouphug::cheers::clap:
