Oh thats just Laura Ward. She does that because it is fall family weekend, and a lot of the parents dont really know whats going on, and their kids are riding, so not available to tell the parents whats going on. :P

Yeah it was only distracting when she called for the wrong gait. .... like when she called for us to slow gait.... on 3 gaited horses...... lol

Looks great! All my friends in 4-H rode Morgans and Saddlebreds, so I was always surrounded by saddleseat riders. Since we were a small club they competed against the huntseat riders in English Pleasure/English Equitation. That was always a challange. They are flying around and you're trying to keep your horse nice a slow. :D

I am glad your school gives you the opportunity to ride Saddleseat. We had a show here with Saddlebreds, Morgans and Hackneys. No one ride in the Hackney saddle classes, I was bummed, but watched a teenager ride her Saddlebred and I was in tears, they were so beautiful together, stupid judge placed her last in her class....I thought they floated. Now, you can come and ride Ginger in saddleseat!! We have shows on Mothers day and in the fall!

Well I couldn't get the video to upload but I did get one single frame of it to come up! LOL. Anyway from what VERY little I saw it looks great! I use to do saddle seat with my standardbred when I was younger. Loved Saddleseat more then any other seat! It was more challenging & more relaxed, the ride was NICE! Thanks 4 sharing eventhough I didn't get to see the whole video. I'll take a look at it later & see if I can get it going! LOL.

(Second video) Nicely done! :) You look how it should look! Like you're on your best horse showing off at the park.
The others are pretty, but not as settled and cadenced as you are in that clip, minus the one bobble. Anything in particular that caused that? I couldn't tell.

VEry very cool!! Sterling's sire (Questing Phar) was used mostly for NSH breeding. He's an Arabian and he has some really nice NSH offspring. Which is amusing to me because the only time Sterling and I have ever been around NSHs she kept spooking at the way they were moving. Lol.

Yeah.. that.. :P
The reason he broke is because he was being a little heavy in his bridle, and I was not dealing with it properly at that time. I had far too much snaffle, and just did not let him step out enough, and so he interpreted that as slow down. I should have had more leg and more alternating rein cues, rather than pulling both sides of his mouth simultaneously. :(
Oh well, I learned!
BTW- I rode a gaited horse yesterday!!! It went AMAZINGLY!!!! I had so much fun and it was amazingly smooth considering I have never gaited before!!! :)
