Well I figured that...

There was a barn I worked at during my apprenticeship that had an employee that ONLY talked to the horses. He fed and cleaned stalls, but he had the bloodlines of all the horses memorized, and when he handled them he would spout off the horses pedigree's.

Harmless old codger, and about the best barn manager I've ever met, you could set your watch off of what this guy was doing, but definately not right in the head.
