After much suffering and cursing the computer (just kidding, the computer was a great sport through all of this), I managed to stick all the clips of the horses running around like crazy animals together, stick in some music and upload it to youtube. :cowboy: Let me know if you can't see youtube and I'll upload it elsewhere. :)

There isn't any music for the first two clips because the commentary, I think, is hilarious. The music after the second half is much louder though ;) (hint hint for those at their office computers :p).

Backstory: We switched the horses into the smaller pasture (20 acres-ish) and apparently they found this an agreeable swap. Legacy was a doll the whole time - I wasn't really paying attention to him once we got about halfway there (instead I was paying attention to the other horses and those who were handling them).

When we got about 20 feet from the gate Daisy :innocent: (who had been following along, we only had 3 people to lead so she got to walk on her own) bolted by Legacy, bucked, farted and squealed. Legacy took this as a signal to run about 10 feet to the side (away from me), buck, fart and dash into the pasture with his lead rope dangling.

Hence the chase.

Of course the only relatively recent time Legacy has failed to come running when called, Will is recording every second of his manic aversion tactics. Thankfully, all the horses responded to my "go that way" commands, and stayed in the lower pasture instead of going up through the woods to the (much larger) upper pasture. :cowboy:

Legacy: Grey paint gelding/angel. :innocent:
Daisy: Roan filly who likes to buck... a lot.
Dixie: Black mare who can run.
Pinto: Lazy black and white paint.

Now... the video. :D
And the webshots (http://good-times.webshots.com/video/3087174830033485505kAeOea)video (youtube's quality is a LOT better). :)

LOL....:hysterical: OMG that was so funny! So when do you ever get to actually ride your horses? They sure do like the ..."hahaha can't catch me" game!

No, it was just a 'move them to the other pasture' day. No riding or real work (aside from their self-inflicted work) involved. They were just being dorks. :D

I did catch them eventually... I swear! Legacy has actually never played "Haha, can't catch me" before - neither has Dixie. I actually found it funny, but I wouldn't if it happens again. They were just excited to be horses in a pasture with tall grass and be freeeeee! :D

See - two minutes later...

Funny! :hysterical:

Mine are funny on pasture moves... they get bored in one and so when I open up the gate to the other one, they make a mad dash for it and then prance around like they've gotten away with something. "We've escaped! We're freeeeeeee!" "Oh... wait a minute... I guess this is just the same old pasture we've been in before..." "Dang".

Love the video! So typical of horses- the one time you HAVE to be able to do somethiing with them, of course they're going to play games! Funny, yet beautiful at the same time. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Thanks Arrow! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

Country - I know, it's so beautiful and green here still, I love it! :D Someone's probably going to hurt me for that (someone who got snow this past week... probably :p).

Caitlin - Leggy has amazing gaits, even when he's running like an out-of-control fiend! I love the part where Daisy is barreling STRAIGHT towards me (mostly because I remember thinking "You are not doing what I think you're doing, are you? You are. Stop that!" before I got around to raising my arms at her). :D

hph - And Dix wasn't even really trying! She definitely has a set of legs on her and she just goes. I didn't edit any of the clips - that clip that looks like it's on fast forward isn't, it's just how fast she was going.

WB - I have no clue what mine were thinking (if they were). I think they wanted me to run around and celebrate their being horses with them, but that was not going to happen... no matter how many times Nana suggested it. :D

Gypsy - Thanks, I love them anyway. The parts of the video where I'm trudging around the pasture I'm thinking "You know, in some countries, they eat horses." and wondering if I should let Leggy in on that particular secret. :D The parts where I'm just standing there, I'm taking in the view. ;)

This is the pasture Legacy's a pro at escaping from so... we'll see if I was tricky enough in my locking of the gate to keep him in this time.

hahaha Great video!! Love your pasture!! Wish we could afford land like that around here (California). Sheesh I would have to be a millionaire to get land like that! We really need to think about relocating!! :) I think Muffin would have a heart attach if he saw your place! Don't let him know there are big pastures like that!

Thanks ya'll. :)

jacki - There were 7 or 8 (very helpful ;))people watching me chase them around... but there was only camera that I'm aware of! :D

Iris - Haha, before the forums I honestly thought our pastures were small! One's 20ish acres (the one we just put them in) and the other's 30ish. Our neighbors on both sides have 100+ acres, and own 100+ acres in other places as well. Nana and Papa only have 50... but I'm certainly not complaining. :) Muffin's more than welcome to come visit though! :D

That was quite entertaining to watch! LOL :) I loved the little spazzy bucking fit Dixie did off in the corner by herself..haha. Your video just made me yearn for a pasture setting for my boy...he would absolutely love to be free like that :( Someday...

Beautiful horses, they were having so much fun!!
