Hello everyone,
I'm not a member of other forums for the most part so this program is kinda new to me. I'm used to Horse.com's.
But, I had a question. I just posted a reply to the "grade stallions" tread and I don't see my reply? I posted using the quick reply button.
Also, wanted to ask Washington if you guys were planning on having more sub sections in the future or just the 3 main sections, horse, not horse, and support?
Great job on getting up the forum so fast! I don't feel at home yet but maybe I will get used to it as I use it more. The only forum I am active on is Horse.com and I am so used to there sections and "bugs" It's going to take me some time to get used to this new program.
I am happy to see so many members came over and are active on this forum. Looks like everyone is having a good time :)

Try posting again, this happened to me once on HGS and I just posted again and it went through. Dunno why it does that, but I think it is just a small glitch that rarely happens. xD As far as the sub sections, this (http://baywindfarm.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29) thread is just for that and explains what the WB's want to do. :)

Thankx Cloe. That was my first post and it didn't go through so I didn't know if I did it wrong or what happened. lol I will have to get used to this forum program. I couldn't even find this thread I just started after I posted it. I had to click on the title when viewing all the subsections to get here. I looked in the support section but my thread wasn't listed?
Maybe I'm just not used to this program yet and didn't see it or my computer is not refreshing when I re-click on a section and not reloading the new thread? I don't know.
I will reboot my comp and hang out here for a while and see if I can get myself more familiar with the look and feel of this new program. I do recognize it from a few other forums that I joined but I'm not active on them so I never did get used to the program.
I'm sure once I goof around on here more I will feel more at home and know how and were to find what I am looking for.
Thankx again for your help.

It's pretty user friendly when you get the hang of it, I sure love it! :D I'm not sure about the whole posts/threads of yours not going through, though. If you are doing it right, obviously it should go through - one thing I do know is I can read the posts you are posting, so you are doing something right! :D

I think I found the problem. I went back to the "grade stallions" thread and looked. My post wasnt there then I clicked refresh and there was my post with another after it.
So then I came back to the support section and looked for this tread and it wasnt there so I clicked refresh and there it was.
My comp is not refreshing to show the new posts or threads. I have to manualy refresh every page I go to to make sure it's current before I reply.
Is this normal? Do I need to change my settings somehow?

Oo, that is odd. You shouldn't have to. WBay/Boy said they're going to be on later today and I know she will take a looksie at this thread and I am sure she can help! It might be a glitch in the forum or maybe it's your computer/internet settings? I'm not too sure. :o Whenever you click, "Submit Reply," it should submit your post, then take you to your post - no manual refreshing on your part required.

It is showing me my post after I post but then when I leave the thread and come back it's not refreshing the thread to show the new posts.
It might be my browser settings or who knows. I'm sure they have a tech book that will have a solution for his problem. I think it did this to me on the other forums that used this program but at the time I didn't figure it out and just stopped using the forum because I couldn't post or find my last post.
Now I realize it's just not refreshing. I will reboot my comp and see if that helps.
When I posted my last reply I clicked on the support section, refreshed it to see this thread then clicked on the thread. It didn't show your reply #4 so I didn't see it until after I posted and then I refreshed and I could see it along with my reply after it.
I hope we can get this figured out. It will be very annoying to have to constantly refresh every page after you open it.
Just some background info. I am using Windows XP Pro, Current version of Internet Explorer and everything is up to date.
I will try rebooting my comp now.
The not refreshing isn't normal. Hope someone with more suggestions will show up to help. But I'm glad to see you here!

Hi there.... We're checking in from Dad's. Have you learned any more in browsing around? I wonder if it's not in your browser settings, but I don't know. Let us know if you are still having this issue when we can get home and hubby feels like he can log in and look into it deeper.
Cloe - we sure appreciate all your help! :)

I just restarted my comp and everything on this page loaded so far that I know of with out me having to refresh. I will mossy around more and see if I keep having the same problem of having to refresh.
Maybe my comp just needed to be rebooted or something? I will keep you updated if it keeps happening. Hopefully it was just a temporary bug in my comp or my settings.
I will let you know. Thankx for the help Cloe. At least I knew someone could read my thread and responded fast so that helped me figure out I just needed to refresh to see the last response.
I will keep you updated. Thankx again and thank you for the nice welcome cat :)

Nope, It's not refreshing. I just posted, then clicked on the support section, looked at my thread and the last response listed was by Washington bay, clicked on the tread and the last response I see is #9.
It's not refreshing to show the current posts.....hmmm. It's got to be something with my settings if I am the only one having this problem.
I bet it's saving the page to my temporary Internet files like most sites you visit. Your computer will save the page so next time to visit it, it loads faster. But then when I click back on the page it's reloading it from my temporary Internet files and not from the site with the new posts. There has got to be a setting I can change so it refreshes and loads from the site not the old temporary file.....
Is there any settings that the forum program says to disable or enable for optimal viewing? Maybe I can just turn off my settings to save past viewed pages. I will try to mess with my settings and find the right one to turn off.
I will let you know if I can fix it on my end. It's got to be a setting....

Ok, I think I found the problem with my settings. I hope this fixed it.
Tools
Internet Options
Under the General Tab -Browsing History - Settings
"check for newer versions of stored pages"
Click option "every time I visit the web page"
Apply
I think this will fix the problem of it loading from my temp files instead of from the site. Now it will look for the "newer version" of the page and load that instead of the old temp file version of the page. :)
I think that was the problem. I'm surprised it didn't cause me any trouble on horse.com's forum like it did here. Must just be because there running off different program coding and maybe refreshing is built into the horse.coms forum and not this program. That's why it would refresh automatically even though my comps settings were turned off to look for newer versions.
With this program it depends on your computer looking for new versions and having your settings set to look for new versions and not fall back on the old temp file that was saved. I guess that's the difference. One little setting turned on or off.
Well, At least if this works we will know what to do if anyone else has this problem in the future.
I hope that fixed it.

Good - glad you found it. I was going to look for a setting like that when I got home. It's been awhile since I've used IE.

Yep, I'm pretty sure that fixed it :) I didn't have to refresh to see any new posts and the forum seems to be working fine now.
Well, at least we got it figured out so if anyone else has this problem we know what it is and how to fix it. :) Thanks for helping me figure it out :)
I guess it back to happy foruming. lol Now all I have to do is down size my pics so I can put one as my signature.
Thankx again.

:o I wanted to post pics of my herd on the horse intro thread, but all I can do is get thumbnails. I've played around, but I can't seem to get the nice pics like everyone else. I must warn you that I am techno challenged at times and I just can't seem to make it work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure how everyone else is doing it, but this is how I've done it so far. Go to your User Control Panel (user CP) page and look on the menus to the left... "Pictures and Albums" under Networking. Create an album and upload pictures to it.
They'll post full size.

Thanks WB. Talk about "Johnny on the spot" or maybe "Jenny on the spot" would be more appropriate. Thanks for the quick response. The forum is fantastic and you guys are doing a great job. Maby everyone else will join us when there's no one left to talk to on the other forum. Sounds to me like they are just waiting for an opportunity to pull the plug on it anyway. I sure miss some of them that we haven't heard from yet.
