I know I have asked before but don't get much response so now that I finally have a really good confo shot of gracie I'm going to ask for ya'll to be brutal lol... I can take it... i hope lol...

She is a 7yr old, 17hh standardbred.
I will be using her for hunter/jumper mostly for fun maybe light showing, driving and trails...we may try low level dressage again in the future. :-D

Here she is...

Not fair. I love Gracie. She's built nice and I LOVE her height. Gotta love STB's. Her back seems to dip funny? Don't know a good term for it, but it appears her withers and croup are at the same level so that's good. Her legs look good to me, but her pasterns seem..at an odd angle? But It may be the trim of her hooves. But, the pic isn't squared with Gracie so that could play up some weird angles. Her throatlatch looks a little thick? but not overly, again, angles. I love her face, and her nice clean looking build. That's my attempt, but better critiques will come. :)

I've never trusted myself to do a critique but I'll take a stab at it. I think she has really nice conformation. I also noticed the dip behind the withers. Is it a back thing or just high withers? I thought the troatlatch was a little thick too. She seems to toe out in back. I can never remember...is that sickle hocked, cow hocked? The only other thing I see is possibly a straight stifle? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on any of this.

I think she's a really pretty girl!

I think it's cow hocked. Or just toeing out. Either works I think.

I don't know how to critique, but even to me she looks well built, to my untrained eyes, lol. She sure is pretty!!

She is slightly cow hocked in back, it's just enough to be noticable :-D
She has high withers but a rather broad shoulder width, I ride her in a med tree cut back. :)

I'm more familiar with doing stock breed types and Standardbreds are built a little differently than QHs, but here's my best analysis.

Slightly cowhocked but nothing bad. I like her head and how her neck ties in, looks like her shoulder isn't steep. It may just be the way Standardbreds are supposed to be built, but it seems that she's standing with her front legs way in front of her withers and her rear legs back too far...but again, that might be the way she's supposed to look lol.
Her back and croup looks fine.
Overall I think she's put together pretty well and she's pretty:)

I think she's lovely. She's got an absolutley gorgeous Standie face. :)

I would like to see more muscle on the top of her neck rather than the bottom like it looks in that pic. :) Just looks a smidge ewe-necky to me. But she's gorgeous!

She has pretty good conformation overall, she is young isn't she? I think she still has some filling in to do, both from growth and some muscling she will get with work.

Heres what I think I see (I like this practice, I'm taking a class on horse judging), but you can never be too sure from pictures:
-Good top to bottom line ratio (should be 1:2)
-Good neck ratios (Should be 2:1 top to bottom)
-Top line looks straight (From withers to highest point on croup)
-Shoulder angle is larger than ideal (45 degree angle is ideal, she looks like maybe 65 or 70 which will make her heavy on the forehand)
-Withers look good, not too prominent but they are there. It looks sunken in on either side which could be fixed easily by muscling up the back. That dip doesn't look bad, but could turn into a sway back later on.
-Fairly square hip, some muscling on the hindquarters could make it even better.
-Slight cow-hock on the back
-maybe a little toed out on the front?
-Good looking feet (angles look good)

Overall, she looks pretty good. I think if you get that butt built up and her back a little, she'd look fantastic. No problems that are at all serious, just a few minor things. You got a good one there!
