I had a very nice woman email about my tb she is looking for a horse to take her daughter to her C1 and he could be that with a bit more training she asked some very nice questions and I answered..Hopefully this could be his new home....:innocent:
Hello. I was wanting to get more information about your horse Twister if he is still for sale. We are currently looking for a horse for our daugher who is 15 and a D3 pony clubber looking to rate to C1 this summer.
1) Why are you selling him?
2) What level of dressage have you shown him at or is he trained at? Is he easy to get into a frame and stay collected? If you have shown him, what were his dressage scores?
3) Does he have any bad habits? Does he get along with other horses, including mares well?
4) Does he like to be kept in a stall or out in the pasture?
5) What do you feed him? Any supplements? How many times a day do you feed him?
6) Does he wear shoes? All four or just front?
7) What kind of trailer is he used to? step-up or slant? stock or horse?
8) How long have you owned him?
9) Does he like to work? Does he like attention and an 'in your pocket' kind of guy or is he more of a 'don't really care one way or the other' kind of guy?
10) Has he had any lameness or health issues?
Hello
I have too many horses that are boarded and I need to let a few go and I am more into showing hunters, and he is one that is an Eventer Jumper Dressage type. He is trained at training level Dressage, and I have yet to show him at a Dressage show. He is turned out with geldings and mares, and gets along great. He is currently kept inside but is fine with inside/outside. He does not wear shoes. We have hauled him in assorted trailers, a stock, and a straight load ramp being the main two. I have owned him for two years and have had no lameness issues and the only health issue is his weight. I was told he was a bleeder on the track but I have taken him cross country and have had no issues with this in hot or cold weather. He is currently getting in the morning two flakes Brome, and has a round bale in his pasture, and in the evening he gets 1 can Purina strategy and a cup of oil. When he is in heavy work he gets half a bucket beet pulp in the afternoon.
Twister is one of the easiest going horses I have had, even when out cross country. He is harder to get to stay round, but once you get him round it is easy to keep him there. I ride him in a snaffle and a running martingale and have no control issues at all. His trot is short when he is not round but once he gets round it is very smooth. His canter is short if the rider is nervous, but once you relax and let him in front it is very balanced and forward. I have only jumped him around 2’6” but he is brave and I have never had him refuse, but if the chance is given he will run out so he needs a bold rider. Outside he is a dream cross country horse; he slows down easy and doesn’t fight it. His trot is very forward and he likes to look at everything that is going by. He is a one person horse and although he tolerates others on him he really likes to stick with one rider. His ground manners are very nice he is easy to lead, backs and pivots.
He is still greener than a C1’s horse but with a bit more training he could do it. I had a paint gelding that was not even broke when I got him, and he took me to my C1 last summer and will be taking me to my C2 this fall. He is a nice horse and I haven’t really put any effort into selling him as I have been hoping to event with him this coming year, but I know a fellow pony clubber would take great care of him.
