So today my sister and I decided to take the girls out on the road. Gracie has been doing wonderfully in her training in the ring ad I thought she'd enjoy a nice stroll outside the ring. :D

She was a bit hyper at first but undercontrol. Stayed just behind the cart as usual, her safety net lol She started to get ansy when we were on the street right behind ours, the other 3 horses were nickering when they saw us.
We rounded the bend while my sister stayed on the road I walked her onto the bridle path. I asked for a trot and got the nicest, forward, even, glorious trot. It felt WONDERFUL, she half halted when I asked, moved off when I asked, it felt LOVELY!

Then we came upon grafitti on the fence... Gracie leaps to the side! Apparently she was very upset that there was icky black writing on her lovely white fence. But we moved on.

At the other end of the bridle path, my sister eased the cart up on the the track and I took the lead and at a lovely brisk trot off we went back down the stretch! I sat back, and asked for a canter, got 4 lovely smooth strides then...
DA DA DA DA... ACK!! She's started pacing! NO!!! Pulled her back into a trot. This is where she starts to lose her cool. We are getting to the wall that she HATES!. We spin around  and tuck ourselves behind the cart.

Hazel walks on without hesitation, and next thing you know I am riding a piaffing dressage horse with lovely head tosses add into the move. I start singing to her, trying to calm her down, then we pop rear, WHACK with the crop... piaffe piaffe piaffe, pop rear, WHACK... Piaffe piaffe piaffe... THANK GOD THE CORNER OF THE WALL!!!

*wipes brow*

Come around the corner, Hazel still in front... look to my right... then yell to my sister, "Kris... here comes the Jumping Dog"... Gracie spooks as dog head appears over fence, Hazel.. yea she could care less over the dog. Minor spook, just a small jump to the left (and then a step the riiiight, put your hands on you hips...oops sorry got distracted) :p

We got home with few more sillyness... Just more head tossing, to which I ended up put the whip over her poll, every time she tossed up her head...OOPS there's the whip.

She was just full of pi$$ and vineger today. Even though she was a pain and my knee is screaming at me... I actually really enjoyed our ride out today.

ALSO I don't think I told ya'll yet, we'll be heading to Arizonia within the next few weeks to pick up a horse trailer! My mother moved to AZ a few months ago and she bought a trailer to move her stuff... she doesn't need it, giving us a great deal... woohoo!
that mean soon I will be putting Vicor into full training so I can increase his worth, sell him on and move my pony out here :)

Oh and HERE's a cookie to reading my novel. :hysterical:

I'm glad the ride went well enough- and how great, Gracie is a dressage buff!

Gracie sounds like she was being a handful but it's good you managed to make light of everything and provide some funny imagery. :p

I hope your gardener friend didn't see her doing that. A horse that can piaffe / passage is like the mexican Excalibur. The So. Cal. charros act like they're some kind of king if they have a horse that can do that.

Don't you love it when they do all there fancy footwork for you  I went on a endurance ride a few weeks ago and my little ride was piaffe-ing and passage-ing the whole time lol.
The video I think carla is talking about is the one I posted:

You have NO idea... it's like the Gracie Parade when we're out. I draw attention just being in the cart but they OOOGLE Gracie...

Funny, Bonnie had her listed for sale online but if she just hung a sign on Gracie's arse, I'd give her about 5 mintues TOPS for being on the market.

I lived in Sun Valley, if you want to know about Charros, go to Orcas park next to the Hansen Dam Equestrian Center, on a Sunday. I have an idea.

That's basically what I did with this guy. No papers, but got him to spin and sold him for $5K
