 We decided we would not do as much upgrading inside the house as planned so we can build an arena. Outside..not covered (yet;)) (oops, forgot Sunday's Man can read this)....It was like....house upgrading....arena....house upgrading...arena. Guess you know what our priority is!! lol

It has been raining since Saturday so we havn't started it yet, but it is a go for 80 X 160 oval arena. As soon as it clears up they will get started on it. Now we can start working these spoiled horses again. I am also glad to be able to have a safer place for our young family members to ride.

We will make pictures of the progress and post them.

Congratulations! We have one, (not as big as yours) but we love it. We just start off every ride with a few warm-up laps in the arena and off we go. Keep us updated with pictures!

Great!! Do U have to cut down trees??? or just move dirt???
What are you planning to put on the surface of your ring and how are you going to fence it?? Details please!!;)

We do not have to cut down any trees. We are only having to level a little. We are having tons of sand brought in. the fence will be a wooden fence oval shaped. I can't wait to get started. The owner of the Stables where I use to board Buck is going to build it for us. I watched them build a beautiful outdoor arena there and I just know they will do an excellent job for us.

We wanted to put it right next to the barn but the grading of the land and water flow would have just been too much work and expense. So we are putting it inside the pasture up near the road. But no worry, we still have lots of green space and also a second pasture for the horses.

If we are riding, I guess we will have to saddle up and ride to the arena, just so we don't have to carry the saddles...lol

Sunday's Man just called me at work and said they have started. He is making some pictures for me. Carla called Sunday's Man earlier and told him that Jack and Mira were down at the lake grazing not even paying attention to them, but Buck was up smelling the fresh dirt and kicking up his heels. Where is the Video?

Can't wait to see the pics.. especially of your boy, Diane! :hysterical: The grading guy came back from dinner break and climbed back on the earth-mover-ma-bobber.. here comes Buck- getting a tad bogged down in the mounds of dirt (it would be too easy to just walk around them), but not letting that stop him. I said to SM, "here comes our nosy-boy!!"

The guy laughed and said, "HA! That's not the word for that horse right there. You should've seen him stickin' his nose in the ___(can't remember what he said)___ we had set up over there this morning!"

Buck then proceeded to follow the tractor around (a very safe distance behind it, but following it nevertheless) as it worked, and when it backed up, he'd mosy on out of the way.. in no hurry of course.

Needless to say, everyone was secured in the paddock after that. ;) I'm sure Jack and Mira are saying, "Gee, thanks A LOT, Buck!"

Hey, Buck's just making sure they're doing a good job.;) After all, he's the one that will be taking the most advantage of it, right? He wants that footing nice and cushy!
