What do you think of this saddle? They are custom made to fit your horse, anyone ever hear of Sycamore Creek Saddles?

Pretty! What is that, a fur seat? I might wince at that, just in keeping it looking new. Not sure.

The rigging on that looks like it should have a Y rigging on it? It looks too far forward otherwise.

Never heard of them. That saddle sure is pretty though. I have to agree with WB on keeping that seat new looking.

Yes a Y rigging. Yes its a fur seat, I was wondering about keeping it clean too, they have rough out seats as well or any else you want. You pick the color leather, stirrup style covered or uncovered, there are a few more I can't decide which one I like best.

Here is the same saddle the first one without the fur seat.

I'd probably get the smooth seat, then you could always add a cushy cover if you want a cushy seat.

But I'd trust it to hold up to use more, and I think it would have better resale appeal. The furry seat is a bit of a niche market or curiosity... some people might balk at it.

I like that last one that is like the first one you showed us.
Good luck in your choice.

Here is the same one in a different shade, did you notice how the stirrups are connected, it looks like they would be very easy on the knees.

Agree on the stirrups. No need to struggle to turn them. They're already turned. :) Looks like a great design.

Custom is great for getting a good fit for your horse plus the features you want. Someday all my horses will have custom saddles;)

It's a neat looking saddle! I have never seen the Cinch D rigging go over the swell before? Well, theres a lot of things on that saddle that I have never seen before, the stirrups attach differently and look to be a special custom stirrup so if you did want to change them you might need to turn out the fenders anyways because the new ones wouldn't have that metal attachment at the top that turns the stirrup out.

The back cinch D rigging is in skirt but not the traditional way of just a slit. Looks like the skirt is folded back upon it's self to hold the D ring. It looks more secure then just a little slit in the edge of the skirting like most saddles have now days.

I think it's a neat design but I would be worried about how that front cinch D rigging goes over the swell and how that might make the saddle want to tip forward a lot. Maybe thats where the Y rigging comes in handy with this saddle? I have heard good things about Y rigging and I could see how that saddle would need to be cinched like that.

I think it's neat, I would love to see one on a horse. :)

You know what I think is odd about the rigging? That the rear D is on top of the flap and the stirrup leather. If you tried to bring your leg and the stirrup further back than it is in the picture, it would bind on the D and the rigging. When it's rigged, you physically wouldn't be able to bring your leg back, the stirrup leather is essentially stuck right where it is. Not sure I like that part at all.

Whitedresswind do you like the saddle?
WB, the other saddles I liked looks like the rigging and the stirrups would be ok don't they ? As far as being able to move your leg back if neccesary.

None of the ones in post 4 look like they'd have that problem.

Actually I thought the stirrup leathers are a bit weird and could get in the way? I'd be a hard sell for a saddle like that one
