Well, I have a big smile on my face all thanks to my pony Cloe. :D

The last time I rode her was yesterday and before that it was September 22. On September 22 she took a jump long and knocked it with her back legs, that spooked her really bad, then right after the jump a cat (Cloe hates cats, they scare her really badly) popped out and that just got her in a tiffy. I continued riding her, but she was just really freaked out (my sensitive pony :o), but we ended on a pretty good note. Yesterday's ride wasn't the best. She wanted to go mach five, bucking, not giving to the bit, head in the sky, etc. It wasn't pain related or anything, I just figured she was still upset (girl can hold a grudge). I ended on an okay note, though. Today I began riding her and oh my gosh, she was acting like the green pony she was when I first go her! Bucking, spooking like crazy, head in the sky, etc. I of course checked for any pain related issue that could be causing it, but nothing I could tell. I decided to bring her to the round pen, that seems to be her comfort zone since that is where I would do most of her training when I first got her. She was perfect! She dropped her head, collected, rounded through her back, and slowed down all on her own! I even gave her head (normally I ride with direct contact) and was on the buckle and she continued to be simply amazing at all gaits! I was very pleased. I then went to the back of the property and oh my, she did this beautiful canter, had a beautiful trot, it was like riding on air and I was just in awe. She was also flexing really nicely. I then let her be a race pony (she's very fast) and I found out she loves whenever I pet her neck when we are cantering, it's her favorite thing I think.

Just wanted to share because today was a really, really good ride. I don't think I could have asked for anything better! All of you should go ride your horses today, they may surprise you! :)

Hey, that's great! I'm glad things are going so well.:) I had a great ride on Brig yesterday (i don't usually ride on Sundays); my neighbor said that he looked like he was being quite a handful (which he was!), but it never felt out of control, and it is so awesome to ride a horse with that much power.:)

She is... isn't that great! I like not being the one who talks the MOST :D

The only reason she was behind at the other place was that I had a head start.

WB - Oh, you will! Fly out here to Pennsylvania and you can ride Keidas, he's so much fun! Cloe is just plain work, ha ha. xD

ItsPrimeTime - I know, talk, talk, talk! I'm guilty for it, lol. And winter is coming up, I'm cyberschooled, I'm scared how much talking I'll be doing. :o I'll shush up for a bit. :D

It's not for lack of a horse I haven't ridden... it's just making the time. :)

Heh... this is only the latest in a long line of excuses this summer.

Horses are happy... I'm happy, we just haven't exactly ridden a lot this summer.

I'm off to ride Keidas. Normally he is ridden five days a week, but because of his hooves needing to be trimmed (I'm such a worrier about that, I baby him, ha ha), he got two weeks off! He is the kind of horse that needs to be ridden and can't hop on and go every once in a blue moon. Wish me luck! :D

Awww!! Sounds like a wonderful time!!! I wish I had somewhere to ride here at my house. . .but we don't have any are that I can work in. Have to haul to ride. . .and I don't feel like haulting today. . so it's bath day. I'm just waiting until 4:30. . .then I'm off of here and going to get my scrubby fingers on and bath like it's not going to pour down rain tomorrow. (which it is. . )

I had a hard time riding this summer too. I did ride for 3 days with the Nez Perce; Labor Day weekend.

He was hyper, as I expected. I am uploading a video to YouTube right now and will post when it's finished, with the full story. :D

He.he! Gotta love that Cloe pony! Snot outside the arena, angel inside!

Maybe Gypsy's half pony? She's the same way when she's feeling up- an angel in the arena, but take her out- watch out!

Funny thing is, we hardly ever use the arena, because she acts like she hates it. With her arthritis, going in circles would make it understandable!
