Well, I have a big smile on my face all thanks to my pony Cloe. :D
The last time I rode her was yesterday and before that it was September 22. On September 22 she took a jump long and knocked it with her back legs, that spooked her really bad, then right after the jump a cat (Cloe hates cats, they scare her really badly) popped out and that just got her in a tiffy. I continued riding her, but she was just really freaked out (my sensitive pony :o), but we ended on a pretty good note. Yesterday's ride wasn't the best. She wanted to go mach five, bucking, not giving to the bit, head in the sky, etc. It wasn't pain related or anything, I just figured she was still upset (girl can hold a grudge). I ended on an okay note, though. Today I began riding her and oh my gosh, she was acting like the green pony she was when I first go her! Bucking, spooking like crazy, head in the sky, etc. I of course checked for any pain related issue that could be causing it, but nothing I could tell. I decided to bring her to the round pen, that seems to be her comfort zone since that is where I would do most of her training when I first got her. She was perfect! She dropped her head, collected, rounded through her back, and slowed down all on her own! I even gave her head (normally I ride with direct contact) and was on the buckle and she continued to be simply amazing at all gaits! I was very pleased. I then went to the back of the property and oh my, she did this beautiful canter, had a beautiful trot, it was like riding on air and I was just in awe. She was also flexing really nicely. I then let her be a race pony (she's very fast) and I found out she loves whenever I pet her neck when we are cantering, it's her favorite thing I think.
Just wanted to share because today was a really, really good ride. I don't think I could have asked for anything better! All of you should go ride your horses today, they may surprise you! :)
