WE want to save it for a rainy day, (because we dont need it ) but we can't. WE have just 3 years to spend it.

...so some goes for education- but we cant hire new teachers- because we can't pay them after 3 years...

...some for roads that are already built- but we can spend it on " make works" projects that are not necesary. WE are good in Idaho at using lots of your money - Fed dollars for silly stuff...

hay we can make money dissappear good as anybody.

Some goes for grants. We are not sure how much will be available but towns, citys are encouraged to apply. Plus other people like non- profits.

Thank yo america for all the extra money that we did not need.

There is a corner in Lewiston , I call hobo corner. Need food and gas money. Always a different person or man and woman, or man and dog, or man. My heart is sad.
This started two or three months ago...

Gene said, look- its the depression- all over again.

Alabama Governor wanted to turn down part of the money. I've heard conflicting reports, either take all or nothing, or can turn down part, who knows. Also that Louisiana Governor wanted to turn down the same money and for the same reasons. It was the money for unemployment, something about the stimulus money was good for two years and then the state would have to come up with the same amount thereafter. Can't have the money without the strings. Too bad they didn't attach some to AIG . Strings that is.

I just read an article about stimulus money here in Iowa

They are notifying the HR departments not to take out as much taxes as they have been in the past. So our paychecks will be for more money - if you are employed.

I get unemployment and I am being given an extra $25 a week I don't need. I am putting it in a savings account - I get half and the husband gets half. This extra $25 raised my benefit from $7.70 an hour to $8.30 an hour. A nice 60 cent raise. When was the last time you got that kind of raise? Why should companies even GIVE out raises if the government is doing it for them?

WHERE is all of this money coming from?????????????? It just blows me away totally. I think its stupid because we are on Medicaid, they want the husband to have a nose surgery, 100% paid for, AND I get more unemployment funding than I need. Why on God's green earth should I even LOOK for a job?????

I was given an extra $6000 in unemployment benefits. How is that paid back if I use it? Is it a loan? Does it come out of my paycheck so I need to stay employed long enough to pay it all back or what? What if I got a job, and lost it 6 months from now? Would I have benefit money or would they reimburse the government with it?

They are reducing withholding, but they are NOT changing the tax tables for 2009 tax calculations, next year. People will still pay the same tax (or more) and will have less withholding to cover it. This will reduce or eliminate returns for most people and some will have to pay in the difference.

To whom I say... welcome to the club! :)
