My husband and I have always wanted a small farm, he was born and raised on one and I worked on one during summer holidays in England. At ages 68 and 71 our dream came true last year when we bought a house with acres. This year we bought out first horse, then another until we had 6, however, I have always wanted a Donkey, two months ago we bought our first Donkey a 6 month old spotted Donkey Jack, he is white right now with some brown shading and very fuzzy topknot on his forehead. We named him Big Jake:cowboy:we have a draft hortes we call Little John!
Well Jake was very lonely and after two escapes trying to get back to his mom we decided he needed company...SO!!!! we got two more...a mom and her daughter Jaquie 6 months old and Jennie 8 years old...have you ever seen a Donkey smile? I have as Big Jake smiled when we put the girls in with him. The girls are Jerusalem Donkeys, grey with the white bellies and the cross across their backs (actually all Donkeys have the cross). So now we have 3 Donkeys, six horses, fourteen goats and Calico cat named Pandora...and as they say at the vets when I am there "And a Partridge in a pear tree:).
My husband's twin brother thinks we are crazy!!!:p But we are very happy and can't imagine not having all these wonderful creatures who give us so much pleasure and amusement....Goats are very funny and so are Donkeys! The first picture is of Little John taking a nap and Big Jake standing guard, although he looks as if he is napping too! I have yet to take pictures of the girls. The other is the horses checking out Jake! The third is Bige Jake looking over the fence!
Hope you enjoy my pets, I do:)
