Dakota Sunrise

ETA again: Thanks, WB! :D
ETA: This was supposed to be in horse General Interest, I don't know how I managed to post it here. Can it be moved please, WB? sorry!:o
I wanted to post this a few days ago, but the video wasn't done so I waited.
Monday I gave Dakota a really good grooming and then took him for a walk. He still has about a week to go before his 6 weeks is up (the 22nd), and his leg really hasn't changed much, but I didn't think a short, easy walk would hurt him.
It was such a pretty day, and this time of year really makes Pennsylvania beautiful. I took a bunch of pics, because I didn't want anyone to feel the need to post this-----> :worthless: LOL!:D:p
Here are the pictures:
He's standing funny in this picture, but he looks so cute anyway.:)

It was pretty cloudy out, and it messed with my camera's lighting, so these didn't turn one quite as well as I had hoped.
But they're still pretty.:)

That is their run in shelter. I just thought this pic was kind of cool for some reason.

Ok, that's it for the pictures, I promise! :innocent:
Now on to the video. A few things things about the video..
At 1:28-1:40, he is licking me. Just FYI, in case you were wondering what we were doing, lol.
Around 4:46, there is a little surprise. I'll explain it after I post the video link, but watch the video first! It's more fun to see it then read about it. After you watched the video then you can read the explanation.:)
At 5:08, those are not recent pics, obviously, since I haven't been on him in over 5 weeks.
Ok, enjoy the video!:) I hope you like it.

I'll come back and edit this post and explain the little surprise.;)
ETA: ok, here is why I'm riding Dakota exactly one week early (as of yesterday). His leg hasn't changed much at all, the lump, etc is still there, but he is not sensitive about it at all. He acts 100% normal. I put him on BL pellets--http://www.horse.com/Horse-Supplements/Joint-Support/B-L-Pellets-BWB16.html-- a couple weeks ago. Whether it actually is helping or not, I don't know. But it makes me feel better and I plan to have him on that supplement pretty much forever now.
Anyway, I was concerned that his leg wasn't improving, so I called the vet and asked him about it (this is the same vet who came out to look at him 5 weeks ago). He had originally told me that there was nothing I could do and he didn't need bute, etc. but I was worried so I asked him if there was anything I needed to be doing or if he should be getting bute now, since rest alone hadn't changed anything. The vet told me that since he isn't lame and it doesn't hurt him, he wouldn't reccomend bute because it could actually make Dakota feel too good, which could result in him hurting himself or strain something by working/playing too hard.
He went on to say that his lump thingy might never go away--if 5 weeks of rest didn't make it heal up, it probably never will-- and it could be scar tissue. He said to just start riding Dakota really easy, and see how he does. If he's ok then start working him a little more.
So last night I hopped on him (bareback of course :D) and just walked him around for about 15 minutes. It felt so, so good to be back on him again! I had really missed my poneh! xD
