I have a QH named Hollywood Babs and I want to know how much yall think she is worth. But, I am in know shape or form ready or going to sell her, I'm just curious of how much she is worth.

She is a registered QH named Hollywood Babs (we call her Babs) She is an 11 year old Zebra Dun. Her sire is Hollywood Dun It and I cant exactly remember the name of her dam.

Her branding is of the trainer's initials- LB (it looks exactly like that on her left front shoulder. I am not sure what his name is. (as you can tell, i dont have her papers in front of me, I am at a friends house lol) He was a reined horse/ performance horse trainer. I have shown Babs in reining and I have won a little money with her. She, of course, does her spins, hard stops, and wont stop unless I tell her too.

When I bought her at age 4, she was fully trained for reining and she had lots of spunk and I could see that she would love to run run run. So, I entered her in a few QH races locally and she did VERY well with them, so I decided to train her to run barrels. She rocked at the barrels. We currently do 1D barrels with 14.36.

She has the best pitter-patter jog I have ever rode, and a very soft lope when she wants. lol! When I gallop her around the ring, every now and then, she will start to get a lil frisky and maybe kick up her heels a time or two. But, theyre very smooth. I have never fell off of her during one of her "outbreaks" lol! All, that I have to do is bump her back and she stops whatever she is doing wrong.

Anyways here is a pick of her conformation. I think this pick shows it pretty good but she still had a little bit of her winter coat left. but, here it is: LEMME KNOW!!! She is worth what ever someone would be willing to pay for her.

Heh... I've given this lecture before but here goes again :)

Horse values are very subjective, and have more to do with who you can market her to than anything intrinsic about the horse.

Winning barrel horses can go for a lot of money. Or be hurt tomorrow and be worth nothing. If you're not planning to sell her right now then her value right now is meaningless.

The only value that is ever certain is the amount the person who actually comes to look at her is willing to pay.

I can't tell you what she's worth, but if she were up here in Canada (especially in SK) she'd go for quite a fair bit of money. Even more so if she's a consistent 1D barrel horse! I also wanted to say her sire is Hollywood Dun It....LUCKY GIRL!! He was one of my all time favourite stallions. Your horse is beautiful too!

Values are so volatile right now - you just never know.

I have to agree with WB. Money earners win back what people pay for them. So they're theoretically worth more. Good prospects are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them. It's like gambling when the horse is just a prospect and has no show record or history. But it doesn't mean they're not worth something.

The market is there for horses, it really is. It depends on who you are marketing to. I have little issues selling stock horse reining weanlings and yearlings. But the NRHA is paying out more than any other association can afford to right now. So there are a lot of people profiting off of reining. Barrels are still good, but no quite a prosperous as they were. I remember only 5 years ago, I could find a local barrel race every weekend with an add in over 500 dollars. Now most don't even have one, and if they do it's extremely low.. sometimes as minimal as 25 dollars.

Yup, I've asked this before. Like WB and others have said, it has soo many factors on how much your horse is worth.
