I got to see Sweet P at work with a real rider on her for the first time. I've ponied greenhorns on her and let a couple people ride her while she was behind Taz (basically, I was babysitting both of them) but yesterday my boyfriend rode her while I switched between Peach and Taz.
It was so cool to see her working! She threw him a little attitude in the beginning but he put a stop to that without much trouble. She really listened to him, and I could see her responding to the bit and leg cues. Best of all, I got to see her in motion, the way she moves out and places her feet, etc. We went up a steep logging road to the top of a hill and down a steep trail. Even though Sweet P is only 13 hands, she does not look small with a full-sized man on her. She did not slow down or tire out at all during the ride. That's my girl! I was so thrilled!
