Bella Boop decided to be naughty yesterday and tore my pin cushion to shreds. :nono: I ended up taking her and TW into the vet for xrays. TW came out clean, but Bella swallowed one! Yikes! We can't afford the surgery to remove it (estimate $600) since i have no job right now so the vet gave us an antibiotic and a dog food meant to build up her stool to cushion the pin and we are hoping for the best. The little turkey doesn't like the dog food of course so the only way she'll eat it is if I spoon feed her... I feel like I have a little kid playing the airplane game to get her to eat it. Hopefully it works though!

We have to inspect all poo's she takes. If it doesn't come out by Sunday night or she starts vomiting... well... I don't really want to think about that right now... The vet said they have a fairly good success rate with this though...

Thats so scary!
I hope these meds work...
When my dog ate a dry chicke carcass I was told to cushion them with bread...
Obviously a pin is much more extreme but I just thought I would throw that out there :)
Good luck and PLEASE let us know!

Ya! she pooed a pin! I'm still going to keep her on the high fiber diet for a couple days though. When looking at the xray the vet couldn't tell if there was already a pin in the intestine or not (would have been from if she got ahold of a pin previously... she was at the vet within an hour of when it happened) but I'm pretty sure it wasn't... but just to be on the safe side I'm going to do a couple more days of this.
