No pics......
:p Because tomorrow's movin' day and you'll be getting a million of them then anyway! Yeesh.....I can't spoil you guys....then you'll expect pics ALLLL the time!! LOL
Anywho, Rebel got a big old session with the shedding blade today. I had intentions of at least trace clipping him, but I couldn't find any extra blades and the ones at the tack store wouldn't fit my clippers.....so alas, he's still a wooly mammoth, just a slightly thinned out wooly mammoth. LOL. But He's getting there! He's looking good!
My trainer pulled his mane for me. It started out that she was going to give me a lesson on how to do it (I've never done it before), but Rebel is really weird about his mane and neck anyhow. If I so much as set the reins on his neck while we're tacking up or move his mane while grooming, he shakes his head like it tickles. He wanted NO PART in the mane pulling. I was holding him in his halter and lead, while my trainer worked his mane, and he started doing little crow hops and even tried to strike and rear a little. So we decided to twitch him and got the job done. He wasn't a fan. But he looks so cute now!!! He has a neck! OMG!! LOL. Not a very pretty one yet....still ewey looking, but he definitely IS developing a bit of a topline now. :) He'll have a real nice neck after he gets more fit! Which is on the agenda once he settles into the new place! :)
After his mane was pulled, there was still torture to be had....he, of course, was rewarded with lots of praise, lovings, and cookies once he had calmed down and behaved. But, he needed wormed again and his last vaccination (first one he got was a booster). With my trainer's help, I gave him the vacc....which I'd never done before, so it was a learning experience. Unfortunately he wasn't really cooperative, but I can't fault him. We were asking a lot.... But it needed done. After the vacc, he got the wormer, which also was not received too well. I tried doing that (also never given wormer before) but he was giving me a really hard time so my trainer went ahead and did it for me.
Of course he got lottttttsssss of love and praise after the whole ordeal. But whew! Big day at the barn!
And yeah, tomorrow's moving day. We'll be moving him in the evening, around 5:30 or so. I went out today and got his feed and a trash can to store it in....so we're set to rock and roll! I bought my current barn owner a gift card to TSC as thanks for what she did for me with Rebel. It's not much in comparison, but I also plan to write her a letter and bake some cookies...maybe people cookies, maybe horse cookies, maybe a bit of both. LOL.
If you read all of that, you deserve 4 cookies!
