I have a question. I'm going to a show this weekend and one of the classes on the list is ball & cone. I have never heard of this, does anyoen know what it is? Maybe give me a general idea?

I have heard of a similar one where you have a golf ball or some type of ball and you run down and have to drop it into a cone that is upside down. I have also heard of one where there is a ball sitting on top of the cone and you have to run down and knock it off with a racket.

Well what I have seen is you either have to put the ball on the cone or take the ball off the cone. Run fast and stay on.

They give you a golf ball and you run to the end of the arena and drop it into a cone with the tip cut down a bit, the cone can either be on the ground or on a barrel. They cut the top off the cone so it's a bigger target.

Oh that doesn't sound to bad. I'm taking a first time horse to this event for experience and fun. I have been doing it for lots and lots of years, but things keep changing! Yeah it will be anythign but fast! Staying on will be good! he is a lazy boy, but has some good go when you get him going. His owner just wants to play in gaming and doesn't care if he is really good or not! this is a good thing.:)

We were practicing today adn he was really tearing it up!! Might have even extended the trot a few times and cantered once!!! Whooo hooo!:) He is learing and picking up patterns really well, now if we could lite a fire under him it would be great!! Slow and steady leaves up the poles!!:rolleyes:

Bad news... Katie and Money did great at the show - but after they had a little incident. Katie says she doesn't know exactly what happened other than she was leading him and then he spooked and it felt like he ripped her ear off! She was a little out of sorts for a minute so her husband held Money and Katie got her bearings - realized that Money's head had slammed into the side of hers. She thought she was fine so went about her business, had a little headache and headed off to her square dancing event. Ended up leaving square dancing in an ambulance because her head pounded, she got dizzy and her eye sight went funky. She has a bad concussion and is home resting... she tried to push it and go to work the last two days and didn't make it the full day so tomorrow she is staying home - good girl! She will go back to get rechecked by the doc tomorrow and is glad for that as her head still hurts very badly and her vision isn't quite right. Prayers for healing for Katie/Fire1 please!

Oh no, I'm sure sorry to hear that! Tell Katie to take it easy and follow the doctor's orders. A concussion isn't something to mess around with.

OH wow! Seems like alot of horses were acting up this weekend.

I sure hope she takes it easy and concentrates on getting better. Let her know we are all thinking about her.

OUCH!!! I hope she is okay. Lesson learned, do not push it when your head collides with your horses.

Hi. I"m okay and i'm at home all this week. OTher than blurrey vision and a very sore head i'm good!;) IT actaully happened half way through the show and I was perfactly fine until about 8 hours later is when it hit. I got to for an ambualnce ride and a nice trip to the er, but hey it isn't the first time! Went back to doctor wednesday for more tests cause things didnt' get better. All the tests are good so now i just sit around, sleep and wait for it to feel better. Oh yeah and sit and bum about missing out on the halloween poker ride I wanted to go to so badly! I have some fun videos of us on my photo page, i'll have to put a link, it is kind of funny now, all these videso were after I got hit. My helmet is on my neice somewere, she is 8 and doesn't know how to ride so she got the helmet!
