Some of you may know that Im not used to youngens. Well, Storm was a youngen, but he was easy..growth wise.
City on the other hand has gone up and down and weight, and finally is making his last(so I hope)weight gain. He should steady out now, or start too.
So I go out to take pics of the blankets, brush on the horses, ect, and find a baby tooth. I am not sure how I missed it before, Im always in his face.
I called my vet, he is my dentist also, well, for the horses any way. They said beings its loose, give it a few days, if it dosnt come out, they can pull it.
One handed, so you cant see all the teeth.
The one you see is his baby tooth still there.

Copy the URL for the video and paste it.... no formatting or anything.

It should embed the video. But it won't show up in preview, you actually have to post it.

Vick- Cane had baby teeth that wanted to stay FOREVER!!!!!!!! Last fall at the old age of 4 he had 3 baby teeth pulled. Vet said some horses just like to keep them in.

Hehe! I had always thought horses lost their front teeth in the first year. I freaked out when I discovered Cobalt had no front teeth! Then I did some research and felt foolish...

Well Cane's "baby" teeth were a little larger than normal. He had one that came out in the wrong place and was pulled and there is NO adult tooth there at all. He has a gap. No biggie.

I can see how you missed it and even when he had them floated. If you are worried about having it pulled and not having an adult tooth behind it then you can x-ray before it is pulled.

Thing is, there is a full size adult tooth behind it. Weird. Its just like a small tooth hanging there, waiting for someone to release it. I aint doing it...lol

Aren't babies fun.....a 3 yr old that I have been working with has his own teeth issues that our equine dentist has never dealt with,he is unable to lose his caps ( baby teeth) and we are having to get them worked on weekly..Pour thing can't keep his mouth fully closed to chew his grain..It's like his gum will not let go. the adult teeth are in with the baby teeth all looking like your city's baby tooth just sitting there

Hehe! I had always thought horses lost their front teeth in the first year. I freaked out when I discovered Cobalt had no front teeth! Then I did some research and felt foolish...

Daisy is nearly three and my brother called me about a month ago in a complete panic, "Daisy's front teeth are gone! They rotted and fell out of her head! What do we do?" Upon examination, they were baby teeth (three) that fell out around the same time. He also swore one was broken in half, which is why he thought they had rotted... it was the adult tooth growing in. He and his buddy were all riled up and ready to call the vet and everything. Guess I spoiled all their fun. :p

Vick - That's how all my adult teeth came in - I had to have all but three of my baby teeth pulled (one of them fell out three times but... that's another story) and our puppy had his adult canine teeth grow in behind his puppy canines (had to have three puppy teeth pulled, actually), so we say it runs in the family. :D I hope City's pops on out soon... maybe it'll be gone in the morning.

Well then. Guess its normal. I hope it falls out though in stead of him having to have it pulled.

I'm sorry I was half asleep when I posted last night

What I meant to add was that it is just a cap and the chart shows when they SHOULD lose which ones but keep in mind they are all indivauls and they don't read the books... I wouldn't worry too much just keep an eye on it and if you notice him having problem call the vet/denist back out to fix it

I ended up with 3 of Lil'Bits baby teeth - odd but kinda fun. I'm with you I'd let the Vet pull it out LOL all my horses can have associations of bad things and the vet - not me :)
She also had a wolf tooth that didn't come in so we did surgery to remove it - wow what a differnce that made in her happiness
