Well all in all it was a great day :) in spite of all the rain and MUD it was one of those days that can only be described and OMG MUD it rained the night before and then almost all day on Sun and where did they have people parking trailers? Oh yeah in the middle of a cow field - now it was just a beautiful view but knowone realized just how soft the gound was till they had oh lets see 12 rigs stuck! Talk about a tow company's dream or would that have been nightmare LOL The cause was good and I have to say we all just laughed about it and kept going - everyone was just smiling and it didn't matter that all our clean horses had sloppy mud up to there knees.
I took Lil'Bit in the Open Division just to get her out and about with more exposure to an indoor arena. Our first class was an in hand which she decided that standing was just not going to happen for more than 30 seconds at a time :( but when it came her turn to trot down the long side she just turned it one and floated down the long side - I really have to get in shape if I'm going to do many of those since I have to really run to let her step out. I wasn't sure how we would do in that one since standing was an issue but she won it! Our second class was equitation and well we put on a bit of a show when the nice little 1/4 horse decided he really needed to buck and spin at canter - that's all she needed for us to do some airs above ground and some sizable bucks added for good measure :o we placed 4th in that one out of 11 - that must have been for just simply staying on her OY. Open Pleasure went quite a bit better, thankfully and to my surprise she won that one too. Our last class was command and clearly she had settled down and really started to shine much to my surprise the judge asked for some differnet things than the standard half from canter and stand... we did hand gallop, 1 &1/2 circle which the 3 of us that where left blew  and then she tossed out counter canter, something I have never schooled with Lil'Bit but she executed perfectly and won the class. She really made me proud with the last class :) Unfortunalty the professional photographer never showed so I only have 2 outside in the warm up ring (or swamp).
She ended up Champion for her division WOO HOO two of the other horses where reserve for thier divisions as well - everyone that went brought home a ribbon - a good day for all the kids as well :)
Cookies for anyone that read the entire thing LOL.
