If you had a million dollars, tax-free, to spend, what would you do? It's fun to daydream a little, even if you know it'll never happen!
Me: 1) buy a farm/ranch in Wallowa county, Oregon (Imnaha river, Hells Canyon, awesome country)
2) big truck, big horse trailer, lots of tack
3) get my masters degree in nursing and open a rural primary care clinic in Enterprise, Oregon.
4) spend 3 months of the year riding my horses, pulling a pack string through the mountains.
Dream, dream, dream.....

I would pay off all our bills, the Durango, our house, etc. Build a nice horse shelter, new fencing, round pen. Finally finish all the remodel ideas we have for our house (or maybe tear it down and start over) buy a new washer/dryer and then who knows what else? put some in savings for college for the kids, etc. i don't think i would have a hard time spending it though.

If I had a million $'s I would head to Colorado and buy the house I saw for sale for $700,000. It has views that make you think you are in heaven. It is what I have wanted my whole life. The barn is nicer than most people's houses. The house is a little upscale for me but it's stone which I've always loved,it's also all on one floor which I want now that I'm older, stairs bother me. I think I could get along there really fine, I have the pictures printed out to torture myself with. With the remaining money I'd buy a house close by for my parents [Houses in town are alot cheaper, really nice houses for not all that much money but I don't want to live in town I want to live out and this place is out] and I'd let my man get the type of car he wants.
Colorado has been my dream since I was 6 and first saw it. A guy from our neighborhood moved there, said he'd never move back east and has been tempting us to move there and I don't need alot of encouragement, I'm ready. My husband who never wants to move anywhere saw the house and said "Let's pack" problem is all it takes is $$$ which we don't have. If someone dropped a million in my lap I'd head right there and buy that place.

Pay off my student loans ... If there's anything left, buy a $2 scratch-off lottery ticket.

First off, I would pay for all of my tuition fees. Secondly, I would put the rest in the bank, let it sit there for a while, and then when I'm ready, I'd buy a little hobby farm, and mabey a couple more horses.

There are so many things I want. But I guess the first thing would be a new house, mine needs some help. Next would be the new barn, with an arena. The barn was built in the 1970's, and even though it's functional, it could use some updating. And last but not least would be a new dodge 2500 or 3500 and a 3 or 4 horse LQ trailer, so I don't have to steal dad's anymore. Anything left over goes in the bank.

Go to school full time without working.
Have a really nice apartment.
Full board Rebel.
Get some professional training on him (which I think I may do anyway).
Get a personal trainer.
Get a new wardrobe.
Probably buy a new car....or truck and trailer outfit.
Take a super sweet vacation. :)

If I had a million dollars, I would:
1) Pay off the mortgage on my parents' house.
2) Buy a little place for me. Nothing big, just a two bed, two bath or something. (Who needs a mansion when you're not in it all the time.)
3) Buy a truck and a trailer so I can be horse-transportation-independent
4) Put Mitch in a bigger corral so he gets more room, and can have an automatic hay feeder
5) The rest goes into the bank.
I'd keep working. I like my job, and feel I make a difference in the lives of the people I work with. And I'd hate to lose that. If I won loads of money, I'd probably just keep on living my life the way I do, but with some [small] changes. Keep living within my means and all, but able to have what I'd really like without being too extravagant and going overboard.

If I had a million:
1. I'd quite my job and become a full time farmer/horse owner.
2. Buy the 12 acres around me.
3. Buy each one of my kids a house.
4. Build a covered arena.
Should have plenty left to put in the bank. :)

Well I actually DREAM at night about this one. Owning my own boarding facility and training horses. Part of it is because I am unemployed and I will need to start working as a nurse aide soon. I guess unconsciously I don't really want to do that. I dream about training horses and spending time with local horse trainers. Don't ask me why.
I would upgrade the truck, ditch my husband (he would only slow me down) and do something with horses. Dressage, barrel racing, reining, I don't know. Get the pony trained to drive. Give Angie some money so she can upgrade her training facility.
I might buy my own retirement facility so I could have a place to work.. it would be an investment.
I always wanted to open up my own tack shop.
Build another room onto the house if I stay here.

Holy! A MILLION $$$$$$$????
I would buy a horse trailer cheap, expensive... i don't care. I just want one so I can go to shows!
Buy more land
Build an arena, round pen, and possibly a barn. hehe :D
Buy some stuff to make some jumps
and with whatever is left, if any, then buy english saddles, english bridles, girths, saddle pads, bits, maybe a barrel saddle just for fun, and anything else i come across at the tack store that i could use. :D
Ohhhh that was fun!!! now i just want the $$$!!!!!!!! :P

:cowboy: That's what lottery tickets are for - pipe dreams. ;)
I'd pay off the house - then run a billboard ad in every state :
"Looking for cute girl , that likes horses and willing to Wed millionaire"
I'd be set for life......
By the way WB - can I run a PA ?

:hysterical: Surely that ad would get SOMEBODY's attention! Trouble is, the #1 rule of horses is that you have to be crazy to get on a horse. Read between the lines! (and, yes, I am probably completely crazy!)

1). Pay for University.
2). Buy a house of my own after school.
3). Shopping Spree, traveling, more stuff for Tanner etc.
4). Donate quite a bit of that money to a local charity.
Gosh I feel selfish :(

1. Barn, fence, covered arena, covered roundpen.
2. House.
3. Get married.
4. Pay off student loans.
5. Anything left would go towards my horses (and the ones that I would love to have right now, but can't afford to keep up), insurance and into savings. :)
