Tomorrow is day 10 and I am going home. No more 13-16 hour days and living in chest waders and cold weather rain gear. Most of us are going to get a break but may have to come back as they expect a second crest around the second week in April.

It will be nice to see the family and take a couple days off. We are required to take two days off after an assignment like this.

I feel bad for everyone that lives here. They have made it past the worst but when the water is gone the clean up will be huge. There are a lot of really hard working and nice people here and they have a long recovery but I'm sure they will pull through it.

My next post should be made from the comfort of my own home, barring anything I feel a need to comment on tonight :).

Thanks to everyone that followed along with me on this experience.

You sure earned yourself a good long rest and a lot of R & R. Put your feet up and take it easy once you get home.

Ahhhhh! I'm here. The dogs met me first. Then I went out to see the horses. The work never ends here. I mucked the barn and changed an outdoor light bulb that's about 20' up on the house. I put a battery charger on the tractor battery and fixed the fence where a horse got out while I was gone. My wife and stepson put the horses in the dry lot two days ago when they discovered the fence.

I found a couple other things to do before they got home from school. I think I'll crash for the rest of the night after I go feed the horses.

I love living in the country. :)

There is the little matter of more water and the foot of snow that just fell on Tuesday that needs to melt and flow away. I didn't say that either just in case you are reading again! lol

:pUnfortunately, I already read it, and already figured that, but I still didn't want to hear it, lol! :)I know Shadowdancer doesn't- until he meets that appointment, he can't get his driving privilages back, lol! I'm getting sick of doing all the driving!

Guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed and wait and see. For one thing, Fargo sure doesn't need any more of the water!

I'm assuming it all depends on how fast or slow the snow melts? And if they get more snow or rain?
