Well, I absolutely love this place!! It was super rainy today so we didn't do anything. I just brought her out of her stall, let her sniff around, and then groomed her. She seems to be pretty content :)

View to the left from our barn. You can see the other barn on the left. Straight forward is the big field where everybody rides. The white building to the right is where the indoor arena is going to be.

More barns and the start of the pastures.

The pastures and back 200 acres.

The other direction, more pastures.

Thank you everybody!!!

We've had some slight drama with the person who leases out the house and a barn but nothing we can't handle and she doesn't own the place, so it's all good! Melissa, you need to call me!

So I had my first ride there yesterday. Dixie did good considering it was her first and she was in heat. She got a double hit of the geese and peacocks across the street but it wasn't too bad. She's a bit herd-attached right now but that's understandable. :D

Slight drama already? You guys can't escape it can you? LOL!

I guess not! I was having a few doubts after we moved but I'm okay about it now. We're having a boarder's meeting on the 10th, people are already complaining. The person leasing the house and one of the barns should be gone soon :)

It sure is hard to find a good barn. I love where I'm at now, but even so, there are a couple things I'd tweak. BUT I realize for my price range, I have to accept that I won't have the works...and Rebel gets lotttttttttts of turn out in big fields, so I can't complain. :)

Yeah, exactly. My price range is not huge and for the riding area and the land, I really can't say much more. I'm glad you're enjoying your new place :)

I think this is just a bit of a shock for me, it's the first time I've moved anywhere and I've never had the worry of my own horse. I've been at Walker for the last three years, those years were the ones I progressed the most and really got back into horses. Oh well. :)

Oh, I know exactly what you mean. Are you doing full board? See, I'm doing partial (you may know this already) and I'm buying Rebel's feed, bedding, and hay....and it's kind of overwhelming since I've never had to do it before. But it's nice being in control. :) I've always had to go by what other people want since I've always rode other people's horses....it's a much more fulfilling feeling when you have YOUR horse that you can do whatever you want with. And yeah, it's a ton of money, but I'm almost excited to spend it because it's on MY horse! LOL

Thank you Carla, steelhorserider, and Zoe!!

Jessica, I know exactly what you mean. For this month, I chose to full board except for the grain. We bought our own. After this month, I will still be providing the grain but hopefully it'll be a more individualized one for Dixie and her easy keeper status and hopefully I can do stalls some days. I'm letting them take care of the bedding/straw and hay. They've got really good hay!
