View Full Version : Camera's
So what kind of camera does everyone here use? I really need a new one, and I want a good quality camera. I really love taking photo's and I think my piece of crap, digital camera is holding me back. Soooo What do you use? Can y'all post at least one picture as an example?:) Thanks!!

Thanks!
If you cruise craigslist or ebay you can find them waaaaay cheaper. I'd rather get a camera like that used then pay the same amount for a lesser camera new.
Good luck :)

The advice that my husband gives is that you first know how much money there is to spend then you look for 2 things, the greatest megapixel and the greatest optical zoom that you can get with that money. Digital zoom will get you very little. Or you get into the Cannon Rebel digital or the Nikon SLR digital for much bigger bucks.

I'm another Canon lover. My whole world pretty much revolves around photography right now. The Rebel XT, XTi, and XSi are a great starting point into it. I have the XTi and while it's not my dream camera anymore we are still in the middle of a lovely love affair. Lol.
I'm trying to do this for a living so I'm upgrading as often as I can but I plan on hanging on to my XTi for a backup for years to come!!! And it does a great job!
All my pics in my albums are from the XTi, as are the ones on my pro site.

My biggest advice is to pick a name brand entry level dSLR if you have an interest in photography. No point and shoot will cut it. Once you get started it's very easy to get hooked!!!!
Wow thanks Oreo's girl, And Equine Woman I was hoping you would post here! Your photo's are wonderful!!

Do you mean DSLR or Point & Shoot? Becuase I have a super little point and shoot for all my photography needs. It's a Pentax Optio L40, 8MP, ISO 3200, Anti-shake, Face-rec, if you know that stuff...
In good light it takes lovely action shots: http://kittysawrus.deviantart.com <<--go there and see photos taken :D
Hope you find a good one for a good price.

Thanks again! I actually try to shoot using mostly natural light. (it's cheap but unreliable!) I'm also going to get a 430ex flash this month and eventually would like to get a 580ex as well, although it'll be a bit. The 430 is what I use at all my events. I just rent it for the weekend but it's time for me to get my own. I'm also planning on getting some studio lights but not this month or next. lol.

I've got a fujfilm s8000fd and it is amazing. Definetly the best camera I've ever owned, and a huge improvement over my old HP 4 megapixel.
Its on digitalcamerareview.com and got a good review. A lot of features and great quality pictures for a decent price, can't beat that.

I have a Sony CD Mavica which is broke and old. It takes great pictures when it did work. had it for 5 years.I am using hubbys which is a Sony cyber shot. It older than mine so the megapixles are not that good.

Kodak Easyshare C533 for the cheaper one. This has been everywhere with me through winter and summer and its easy to carry on rides because its so small and light.

And Nikon D40 for the more expensive one. Definitely not one to take on rides or anything of the like, but its an amazing camera that I luuuve.
