Well, the trail went great! I had so much fun but I'm not sure if Dixie will ever let me put a saddle back on her again! ;)

We did over 30 miles within the three days. This was Dixie's longest trail ride with me but she did really good. She stayed out on a highline while we weren't riding and she of course had her blankey on at night. I love the trails at Mohican, they were all taken care of and the trees were amazing there!!

But I did do a very, very bad thing. I completely forgot my camera...I know I said I wouldn't. I feel horrible!! In my defense though, I actually did bring it to the stable, I just forgot to transport in into my friend's car. She brought her camera though and I'm supposed to have them e-mailed to me soon, I want to see if I can use some for our BO's website too (I'm the on managing the website for those who don't know). By the way, I invited my friend to join the forum, maybe she'll pop by, her member name is VegasSuperStar. Apparently she's shy, hasn't posted yet.

Dixie did unfortunely get girth rubs, they're not bad ones though, they're already healing up. We had a neoprene girth that had never bothered her before but I had never had it on for this long. I will be picking up a mohair or at least felt girth at congress tomorrow.

Oh and I also met Mary there!! It was so funny. I was just walking along the campsite going to our trail entrance and I hear, "Are you birdseye?". It didn't quite register in my brain at first but I of course said yes and she said that she was Mary! She seemed very nice and cool for our first meeting, I hope you meet you again, Mary!!

I'm glad you had a good time! It was a glorious weekend in Ohio, wasn't it? Don't worry too much about the pics--you might have had more fun! Sometimes when I have my camera, and I'm worried about getting shots, I forget to enjoy the ride!

Yeah, I hope we do meet up, Annie! Geesh--I can't believe I actually bump into someone from the forum and then my group leaves and i can't stay and visit!! I didn't have my camera either!:nono: And it was gorgeous--temps in the upper 70's, leaves changing color, nice breeze, you and your horse--what more can you ask for.....

NO CAMERA!!!! Silly girl... I won't give you too hard of time YET - you have a little time to get us some pics before we really start hassling you!:) Glad you had fun and your pony did you proud!

I'm glad you had a great time- pics would have been nice, but I'd be the last one to hassle you about it, considering how few I post, lol!

OK, just kidding! But don't even expect to be let off easily without pictures. Both of you, actually. :)

Glad you had so much fun. I'm also surprised that the girth rubbed Dixie. Did you have it nice and tight? Some think that a looser girth is kinder to a horse, but not if it can slip back and forth and chafe.

Glad you had fun!

Sounds like a great time!!!!!!!! And ahem. I'm going to let you off easy on this camera thing since it was your first offense. But don't let it happen again.

Sounds like a lot of fun! Sure hope we get to see pictures. :)

Taz started to get girth rubs after one ride, when we were doing a lot of fast action stuff. I shifted the saddle back about an inch, and that seemed to solve the problem. He didn't get any rubs at all on our three-day pack trip.
