I am SOOO excited! Sorry if this post is pointless, I just had to share!

Snickers is officially coming... Sunday! 7 days from now! October 12, 2008-- get my drift :D? The owners are trailering him over, my Mom is going to pay him off and I am just going to give her my next April payments until I pay her off. :D

Not to mention.. HIS TACK SET IS NEARLY COMPLETE! I have all ICE BLUE tack for him. Rope halter, lead rope, breast collar, headstall, reins, I'm paying for the saddle pad tomorrow and I will be getting him a brand new Abetta Cordura saddle after Christmas. The only thing I need after that are some sport boots and a regular nylon halter. Ooh the joys of not being rich! this'll be my first horse that will have all matching tack. I could never afford it before!

Anyway, here's Snickers, who I am going to rename Melee. I think it suits him.

So happy for you and MeLee! Can't wait to see him in his matching outfit.

I hope April's new family will keep you updated and you'll keep us updated, I'm going to miss her too.

I am glad you are getting a horse that will do what you want to do, he is a cutie, I love his color and markings. Can't wait 'til he's with you so we can get more pictures! It's so exciting!

Wow, replies replies! Thanks so much everyone. I wont be able to stop thinking about him tonight-- He reminds me SO much of Tyke in so many ways and you all know how much I love my Tykey..

When he gets here I'm going to put him in the small pasture behind the barn where he can't see much of the horses so I can keep his attention focused on me for the time being. Then I'll (saying with Liva) groom him up and take new pictures so everyone can really see what he looks like. I want to see him COMPLETELY clean. I'm excited to give him a bath, I hope it gets warm enough for me to.

His legs are very stout! He has huge hooves and very drafty legs-- they're not as short as how they look in the pictures though. I do love how all four of his legs are white, though!
He lacks muscle: he's chubby. He has big, powerful strides.. you can just see it from watching him being ridden. His lope is extremely comfy, his trot.. not so much. I'm just so excited to get him. I will repeat that 15 more times before I'm done with this thread. :D


The story for Equine Woman and anyone else who's interested..
I had posted about him a while ago in a "prospects" thread that contained 2 horses, him and a palomino paint. I passed on him for a while, then I kept looking at him and decided since it was only a half hour drive I'd go take a look at him. Well, I fell in love with him. He was very tolerant and sweet. He did have a minor bucking fit which wouldn't have been a problem for me, but the guy who was on him I dont think had a ton of balance, not to mention it was Melee's 2nd time riding this year. Anyway, he took him out to the round-pen, remounted, and rode him around w/t/c for me. I felt bad-- He had Snickers in a tom thumb and was severly pulling on his mouth. Well, when he was done, I rode him around, gave him his head and he did perfect. Stopped right away for me, went into all his gaits easily(except the lope.. once.) Then I had the guy ride him outside of the round pen so I knew he wasn't going to pull any funky stuff. he did great. Ran him around the yard back and forth.. perfect. Ground tied nicely, bathed off without moving a leg. Hes just everything I'm looking for. The guy said that he doesnt KNOW the barrel pattern.. like you cant just drop the reins and have him take you through it, but you also dont have to lead him through. He already knows how to rate and all that.

Sorry for the novel of a post! Thanks again everyone. And yes.. this forum will be getting LOADED with pictures of him as soon as I get him.. right when he steps foot off the trailer. :D There is just something about his gelding that gives me butterflies and a really good gut feeling!

Thanks everyone!

I have a feeling he's going to be really dirty when he gets here. The owners mailed me and told me that hes really dirty right now because its been raining and he must've rolled in the mud.

I'm really happy I'll br getting updates on April, I will post them here for sure. I'd be upset if I couldn't know how my girl is doing!

But just wait till you guys see him IRL.. He's such a cutie! Those pictures do not do him justice!

Oh Boy!!!!! Melee is soooo gorgeous. I hope you get lots of pictures. I am seeing alot of that blue color on the forum ...I just love it!!! Melee is a great name!! You must be just soooooo excited. That was great of your Mom to do that , so you can get him home!!

Oh I know, ONLY 3 more days! And they're coming in the morning. WOO HOO! I'm pumped. I just want to brush him and get used to him.

The blue I have for him is amazing! I bought it with the intention of using it on April but I'm now going to use it on Melee since April is sold. Its such a pretty color and somewhat hard to find, I'm still looking for a affordable ice blue nylon halter that looks decent!

But thanks everyone! Soo close yet so far away. Waiting for Sunday..
