View Full Version : My new bridle! (pics)

So today I met up with a woman who owns a secondhand tack shop and bought a bridle from her. It is a Stubben bridle and it apparently sells for $215 new. Well I got it used in very good conditon, with brand new Stubben reins, for $35!!! Plus an eggbutt snaffle for $8. I'm pretty much ecstatic right now, I never knew shopping could feel so rewarding! It was dry and stiff but had no cracking, I put my Stubben hamanol on it and now it feels great, nice and flexible. :D I took a picture with my cell phone, so it isn't the greatest quality but I wanted to be able to show it to ya'll. The picture makes the bridle look darker than it really is, it actually is havana colored.

If the weather is nice I'll take some pics when I have my lesson on tuesday, I'm eager to see how it fits too.

A Stubben for that price...wow, you got a terrific deal, they're beautiful bridles, and ya got reins too....awesome deal!

I know, I figured a Stubben at that price would be torn, cracked, have rusty hardware, etc. So I was happily surprised when I inspected it and found it had no problems other than being dry. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone!

Very nice bridle! Congratulations. It's a beautiful thing to have a really nice bridle for a horse. I have two excellent bridles and I just love them both.

Thanks everybody! I keep going upstairs so I can look at it, teehee, I can't believe I actually have it! Equine_woman, its a good thing I spend almost all my money on riding lessons or I could easily get the shopping bug and be in the tack shops all the time, lol.
