Does anyone here enjoy rock climbing?
I am taking a rock climbing class here at school and today we went on our first outdoor climbing trip! Will be doing another, maybe two next week. It was soooo much fun!! We did two pretty easy ascents, but one was a crack and I thought that was so much fun! Anyone else here enjoy rock climbing?

My ex-best friend used to be really heavily involved in rock climbing. She would go to competitions all the time, it's a really intense sport!
I've only done the occasional indoor climbing. A few months back at school, we had this special "risk" event where it had a high ropes course and a climbing wall. We took turns racing up the wall :)

Our school has an indoor climbing wall as well. We have been using that for class for a while, but it was real exciting to actually go outside and do it, it's like a whole different sport! I was so bummed because two days ago they had an orientation with a high ropes course out with the swing and I forgot about it!

I've never been outside on a wall, I'm too scared! :D I have a horrible upper body and I'm slightly afraid of heights, like currently, I can't even climb a tree without getting nervous. :innocent:
High ropes was really fun! Despite my fear, we were only about 20 ft in the air and I was shaking the whole time but it was so cool! It started off with a balance beam, then a bridge with individual log type things that you walk over. After that, there were swings that you had to step on, this was really terrifying and the last was where you pulled a swing over, swung to the middle, and pulled yourself to the other side.
When my children were young we used to do easy ascents in Sink's Canyon south of you by Lander. When one of them was living in Cody, she and her friends really got into it. There are just too many cool climbs up there to not even try them.
The "Y" in Casper wanted to hire me to interpret for some Deaf kids who wanted to take a climbing class, but I just couldn't figure out how I'd hang onto the wall and sign at the same time. lol

The is some pretty cool climbing (and bouldering) up here in Cody. The only bummer is I don't know many people that well, who are experienced enough to lead climb. But it is so much fun! We have a lot of bouldering rocks in Spokane if I end up going home for the Summer, atleat I can do those without a lead climber!
