i can not believe this! i did have this really nice Internet setup at my house. i had a really fast download speed and i loved it. i get an email from wild blue, the company that i get the Internet from, and it says that i am using too much bandwidth? and that i am in violation of some policy. so they slowed down my Internet speed. i when from having speed like a fast DSL to now dial-up and the best part...i am still paying the same amount. so right now i paying $80 a month for dial-up!!! so i call tech support and ask what is up she said there was nothing she could do. when i first was looking to get this service the first question i had was if it was okay for World of Warcraft, and i mean really good for it, no lag, fast log -in kinda thing. i was told yes from 5 different people, 2 different sales people and the 3 instillation guys. so i told the person from tech support that and she said i was lied to!! so now i get to call the customer service dept. tomorrow and really chew some butt. if this is not fixed and put back to normal they are going to have a law suit on their hands. i was lied to by 5 different people. if i had known the stupid limitations on the downloading and uploading i would never have got is!!

Bad enough to have dialup in the first place- at least then when you move up to DSL like I did, it seems like lightning speed. No fair them making you go the other way around- especially when you were told differently. I would definitely want to chew some butt! $80 a month for dialup speed- sheesh!
I pay around $100 for 1 mbps DSL, digital TV w/over 150 channels, plus phone service with a lot of extras! Love my local phone co-op!
What I don't get, is if it was showing you were paying for higher speed service on your statement, how can they downgrade you and make you pay the same?

We have had Wildblue since 2005 because it's the only game in town for us. My DH is always after me to not watch too many videos, upload or download pictures. It uses your allotment and will cut you back to a crawl if that happens. There is nothing you can do because it's in your contract. It's rolling fair access policy. It's not what you use for the month, it's for the last thirty days so you may only have to wait a few days to get rolling again if you cut down your usage. If you must call, I'd play dumb and very sweet and say you didn't realize you couldn't play games because you were told you could. Believe me, they don't really care.
