I'm still learning different ways to make videos, and since Gypsy got a new bit, I thought, what the hay! We'll see how she acts, and get some video at the same time.
Nothing fancy- she's only been ridden about half a dozen times since last fall, but here you go.
ETA- I couldn't find the right link to post it from One True Media, so it's uploading to You Tube. With my luck, they'll take my music off, lol!

Looks like she is very responsive to it.
What kind of bit is it?

How did you see it? Did the code I put up actually work?
There wasn't an official name for it, but it's a long shanked, medium port. I can upload apic while I'm waiting on You Tube.

Very nice. Over time she wont mouth it as much and it will be smooth as hot butter to ride her in it. But she is very responsive, which is great!

Thanks, Badlands! Years ago, I had a much heavier spade bit for show, and she loved the thing. Another thing I'm going to do is get my hands on a curb strap- I'm using a chain right now, because that's all I have, lol! I think the chain might be a bit much.
PeggySue said she might have one for me.

Very nice. You sure have her backing beautifully. She looks comfortable all the way around to me.

Thank you, JackieB!
It's funny - I've had a lot of people that have seen the video mention her backing, but she's actually starting to rush in the second back. She rounded much better, and gave to the bit more when she was younger. There are times when she still gets a really great back, and if I ever get lucky enough to get it on video, you'll see what I mean.

I enjoyed the video! You did a good job with it! I love your horse. I loved how calmly she trotted.

Im just changing over to a 2link chain strap. I am keeping my leathers in case they dont work out. They were on sale for 3 bucks so I had to give em a try. I think I may get a tad bit more response out of my horses.

Gypsy looks so nice, she's really light in the bridle, I love that in a horse....shows you have some good soft hands too. You've really done a great job with her!

Petra- thank you! I wish she was that calm on the trail, lol! She has her days.
Vicky- you have the opposite problem I have, he,he! I used to show Gypsy in a strap, because otherwise she'd throw her head up. I always use my seat first, and for the most part, she was working off my seat in the video. When I get her out in the ditch, she wants to go! Takes seat, leg, and rein to wake her up, lol!
Remali- see above!:p Light in the bridle in the arena, steamroller on the trail, lol!
Someday soon, we'll get video of her out on the trail, and depending on her mood, you'll see what I mean, lol!
Thanks for the compliments, everyone! It's great to know she hasn't forgotten everything I've taught her.

Hey Nudge_Gurl! She'll do both, lol!
Took her out today in the ditch, and considering she was watching Shadowdancer with a cautious eye, she did great! She wanted to take off on me a few times, and tried to drop her head and shake it, but decided that wasn't wise, and straightened right out. Not once did she seriously sling her head around or try to put her nose to the sky, which is what she'd try to do with the other bit.
There will be more pics or videos coming soon- Gypsy's getting a surprise from another forum member. I'll be keeping you all in suspense until it comes, lol!
