Well...Joey doesn't want to go back :D:D We started off with a 2yo stallion, he was pretty nice...then we got on to the two, 2000+ lb Shire geldings....and they were in a FOUL mood. Even in the stocks...it was a tough day.

Is he going to be around too, or is he in some kind of recovery ward someplace?

He's probably sleeping in late.....we didn't get back to Sealy until 10:00PM...and he had an 1.5 hour drive back home.

I will NEVER understand how you guys don't have back problems.
I just clean the hooves on my horses and my back in done for the day. I definately think a good shoer is worth my horses weight in Gold. :)
Glad you guys are back!

I'm about like you. Although I do trim Buster myself, I can only do him and then I'm done for the day. Farriers have really strong core muscles in their abdomens and backs. I guess ours would get like that if we did the same type of work, but I can't imagine it myself. Trimming/shoeing a dozen horses in a day is mind-boggling to me and sometimes they do even more than that!

My farrier said it's not the bending over, it's the getting back up he might have to cut back on as he gets older. :)

I used to go up there. Had a few Shires just south of Dallas....but don't do them anymore.
Throw 'em in a trailer, come to Houston for a day :D

I didn't realize how tired that made me until I got up with a cramp in my quad. I was leaning on the stocks while I was working and using my thigh to stabilize the foot while I was working on it, and that last one thrashing in the stock I think left my leg a little sore.
Nope, no pictures...we were BUSY !

NOPE! Wrong again! LOL...

This is one of the rather large geldings we worked on. I shod that can chaser in between shaping shoes for this guy. :D

No, I actually had some horses to work on this morning. I got home about 3pm and took a nap for a couple hours. I'm beat...
It's not the work that bothered me, I could do that all day. It's just the 10hours in the truck that killed me.
